The six North Coast women’s golf teams that were in action
last weekend competed at Wittenberg’s annual Pat Clouse
Invitational, played the par-72, 5,800 yard Springfield Country
Club in Springfield, Ohio. Ithaca won the team title at the event
with 627 strokes (316-311), while DePauw was the top NCAC finisher
in second-place with a 36-hole score of 639 (317-322).
WITTENBERG hosted ALLEGHENY, DENISON, DEPAUW, OHIO WESLEYAN, WOOSTER and nine other
non-conference teams for its annual Pat Clouse Invitational, played
at the par-72, 5,800 yard Springfield Country Club in Springfield,
Ohio. Ithaca topped the 15-team field with a 36-hole score of 627
(316-311), while DePauw was the NCAC’s top finisher in second
with 639 strokes (317-322), followed by Wittenberg in third (655),
Allegheny in sixth (697), Ohio Wesleyan in seventh (701), Denison
in 10th (715) and Wooster in 11th (733). Wittenberg junior
Nicole Waers (Canton, OH/Perry) was the
league’s top finisher in the event in a tie for second with
155 strokes (78-77), while six other NCAC student-athletes posted
top-15 finishes, including DePauw senior Abby Dickey (Elk
Grove Village, IL/St. Viator) in fourth (158), the DPU duo
of senior Paige Gooch (Ft. Mitchell, KY/Beechwood)
and freshman Alexandria Ramirez (Naples,
FL/Community) in a tie for fifth (159) and Ohio Wesleyan
junior Courtney Tincher (Zanesville, OH/West
Muskingum) in a tie for 12th (164), while Allegheny senior
Sarah Vorder Bruegge (Palm Beach Gardens,
FL/Benjamin) and DePauw freshman Sheinnera
Gerongay (Bloomington, IL/University) tied for 14th in the
individual standings with identical rounds of 165.
