Johnson Hired as NCAC Director of Athletic Communications 7/25/2023 11:30:00 AM Share: CLEVELAND, OH - Dani Johnson has been named Director of Athletic Communications of the North Coast Athletic Conference, it was announced today, Tuesday, July 25, by NCAC Executive Director Keri Alexander Luchowski. “I couldn’t be more pleased to welcome Dani to the North Coast Athletic Conference,” said Alexander Luchowski. “Her experience as a two-sport Division III student-athlete and variety of professional experiences she has built up in her short career thus far – most especially her time with the American Rivers Conference - make her a perfect fit to serve our members. She is passionate about college athletics and will bring a great deal to our operation." Johnson, a 2021 graduate of Wartburg College as a volleyball and track and field student-athlete, comes to the NCAC after working with the Iowa Swarm Collective and within the University of Iowa’s athletics department. With the Swarm, she served as the lead intern and coordinated the digital marketing and branding along with the organization-athlete relations for the launch of the new NIL collective initiative. She was responsible for member management, event planning, social media and content creation. Within the University of Iowa’s athletics department, she served as an athletic facilities graduate intern. She assisted the Associate Director and Assistant Director of Facilities with daily operations, event planning and preparing facilities for home football games, track & field meets and soccer matches along with preparing for and hosting the Big Ten Gymnastics Championship and the first and second rounds of the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament. "I would like to thank Keri Alexander Luchowski and Shannon O'Brien for giving me the opportunity to work alongside them, league administrators, and student-athletes across the North Coast Athletic Conference,” said Johnson. “I look forward to bringing my passion for intercollegiate athletics to a conference with such a rich history and success." Prior to her work with the Swarm and within the athletics department at the University of Iowa, she served as a training camp intern with the Kansas City Chiefs, as a graduate student intern with the Iowa Hawkeye wrestling camps and as an intern to the Commissioner at the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C). While with the A-R-C, she developed social media content and press releases while managing the conference website, schedules, and scores. At the NCAC, Johnson will be responsible for all the communications efforts of the conference, including the conference website, social media outlets, awards program and weekly honors, as well as the more traditional sports information duties such as statistics and record keeping. Johnson will begin her NCAC tenure in mid-August as she transitions from Iowa to the North Coast. Founded in 1983, the North Coast Athletic Conference consists of nine academically selective colleges and universities - Denison University, DePauw University, Hiram College, Kenyon College, Oberlin College, Ohio Wesleyan University, Wabash College, Wittenberg University, and the College of Wooster, along with affiliate members Allegheny College, Earlham College, Transylvania University, and Washington & Jefferson College (field hockey).
