CLEVELAND, OH – The North Coast Athletic Conference is celebrating its 40th playing season by selecting All-Decade teams in all 23 championship sports. Student-athletes that competed in the NCAC between the 2013-14 and the 2022-23 seasons who earned Player of the Year honors, or who earned a minimum of three all-NCAC first-team nods during this time were named to the team.
In men’s basketball, 12 student-athletes have been recognized for their outstanding accomplishments on the court.
In the last 10 years, four different NCAC schools earned conference champion status: Ohio Wesleyan, Wabash, Wittenberg, and Wooster. The Fighting Scots, who boast a league best 19 crowns overall, won the conference title on four different occasions (2014, 2016, 2019 and 2023) this decade and shared the honor with Ohio Wesleyan in 2016. The Battling Bishops completed a three-year run at the top of the league from 2015-17. In 2018, Wittenberg earned its first conference title since 2012 and then regained control in 2020, after Wooster’s win in 2019. Wabash garnered its first-ever NCAC conference championship in 2022 after completing a 16-1 record in league play. No champions were crowned in 2021 due to COVID-19.
Founded in 1983, the North Coast Athletic Conference currently consists of nine academically selective NCAA Division III colleges and universities - Denison University, DePauw University, Hiram College, Kenyon College, Oberlin College, Ohio Wesleyan University, Wabash College, Wittenberg University and the College of Wooster along with affiliate members Allegheny College, Earlham College, Transylvania University and Washington & Jefferson College (field hockey). The NCAC sponsors 23 championship sports, 11 for men and 12 for women.
