Offensive Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week – Avery Beaver, Wabash
Wabash senior guard Avery Beaver (Lafayette, IN/Jefferson) paced his team to a pair of road conference victories over Kenyon (74-64) and Denison (89-81) to keep the Little Giants at the top of the NCAC standings. Against the Owls, Beaver recorded 18 points, four rebounds and three assists. Then on Saturday versus the Big Red, the senior scored a career-high 20 points, connecting on 6-of-11 field goals and 4-of-7 three pointers, to go along with four rebounds, two assists and one steal.
 
Defensive Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week – Noah Hupmann, Wabash
Wabash junior post Noah Hupmann (Sunset, SC/Covington Catholic) and his defensive efforts helped the Little Giants go 2-0 in conference play and to top the NCAC standings with two weeks remaining in the regular season. In a 74-64 win over Kenyon, Hupmann recorded two blocked shots and two defensive rebounds, while limiting the Owls to no second-chance scoring. The seven-foot, two-inch post player went on to turn away four Denison shots and collected four defensive rebounds to help Wabash claim an 89-81 victory. Hupmann currently leads the conference and ranks 22nd among Division III players with 47 blocks while also ranking 18th in the nation with an average of 2.35 blocks per contest.
 
Offensive Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week – Kasey Schipfer, Ohio Wesleyan
Ohio Wesleyan senior guard Kasey Schipfer (Mechanicsburg, OH/Mechanicsburg) and the Battling Bishops recorded wins over Denison (63-61) and DePauw (74-64) to move up to second in NCAC standings. Against the Big Red, Schipfer led the Bishops with 21 points, to go along with five rebounds, two assists, and seven steals, one of which came in the last 16 seconds of play which set up the game-winning fast-break lay-up. The guard then recorded a game-high 28 points and 12 rebounds against the Tigers after going 9-for-13 from the field and 9-for-10 from the line. On the week, Schipfer averaged 24.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and four steals per game.
 
Defensive Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week – Krystal Montas, Oberlin
Oberlin first-year forward Krystal Montas (Sarasota, FL/Riverview) and her defensive efforts propelled the Yeowomen to a 2-0 week with wins over Kenyon (69-38) and Hiram (62-46). In just 24 minutes of work against the Owls, Montas collected six defensive rebounds, one block and one steal. In the victory over the Terriers, the forward collected another six defensive boards, to go along with six blocks and two steals. This season, Montas has recorded at least one block in 19-of-20 games and has tallied two or more in nine outings.
 
Men's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week – Myles Felt, Oberlin
Oberlin junior Myles Felt (Wilton Manors, FL/Fort Lauderdale) helped the Yeomen defeat Wooster (141-115) and Hiram (207-43) in the team's last double-dual of the season. Individually, Felt clocked the fastest times in the 50 (24.48) and 100 (53.09) backstrokes. The junior also recorded two relay wins, swimming the second leg of the 200 free relay (1:27.94) and as the lead off in the 200 medley relay (1:35.92). The win over Wooster marks the program's first dual meet win over the Scots since the 1984-85 season.
 
Women's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week – Maddie Becker, Wooster
Wooster senior Maddie Becker (Bethel, PA/Bethel Park) and the Fighting Scots went 2-0 in dual meets against conference foes last week, recording wins over Hiram (176.5-78.5) and Oberlin (211-35). Becker claimed four first-place finishes in the 100 individual medley (1:01.32), 50 breaststroke (28.14), 100 backstroke (1:08.98) and the and the 200 medley relay (1:55.15). In the 100 IM, the senior lowered her Timken Natatorium record. Over her career, Becker went undefeated in dual meets.
 
Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week – Anthony VanOyen, Wooster
Wooster first-year Anthony VanOyen (Dexter, MI/Skyline) and the Fighting Scots garnered their first team win of 2024 after defeating John Carroll (6-3) on Friday. To begin the match, VanOyen and fellow first-year Jay Dixit (Pune, India/Vidya Valley School) recorded an 8-6 victory in the No. 1 doubles flight. The rookie then won in straight sets, defeating Anthony Markello (6-2, 6-3) in the No. 3 singles flight.
 
Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week – Otilia Oita, Wooster
Wooster senior Otilia Oita (North Olmstead, OH/North Olmstead) led the Fighting Scots to a 5-4 win over John Carroll on Friday to garner the program's first win of 2024. The senior collected a pair of wins in each of the No. 1 singles and doubles flights. Oita teamed up with  junior Janaki Jagannathan (Malvern, PA/Whitmore School (WV)) to earn an 8-2 win at the top doubles flight. Oita followed that up with a win at the No. 1 singles flight with a 6-2, 7-6 win over JCU's Madeline Kavenagh.
 
Men's Indoor Track Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Week – Kambi Obioha, Oberlin
Oberlin junior Kambi Obioha (Wauconda, IL/Northridge Prepartory) garnered two wins at the Yeomen's Dan Kinsey Invitational on Friday. Obioha topped a field of 13 to win the 400-meter dash after finishing with a time of 49.37 seconds, to rank first in the conference standings. The junior was also the leadoff leg on the 4x400 relay that won by 18 seconds in an Oberlin school record time of 3:17.21, which leads the NCAC and currently ranks tenth in the nation.
 
Men's Indoor Track Distance/Mid-Distance Athlete of the Week – Brayden Curnutt, Wabash
Wabash junior Brayden Curnutt (Kokomo, IN/Western) and the Little Giants captured the overall team title at the Anderson University Invitational on Saturday. Curnutt won the mile with a time of 4:20.25 for the second-quickest time among conference runners this season, only trailing his own mark of 4:19.22 set earlier this year.
 
Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week – Chris Slater, Denison
Denison junior Chris Slater (Hudson, OH/Hudson) recorded a new school record in the shot put after finishing second in the event at the Big Red's Bob Shannon Invitational. Slater's toss of 15.28 meters broke the previous school record set by Arthur Morrow (15.17m) in 1964. The junior's toss currently ranks second in NCAC standings. Additionally, Slater placed third in the weight throw with a mark of 14.87 meters.
 
Women's Indoor Track Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Week – Daysia Hargrave, Wooster
Wooster junior Daysia Hargrave (Orrville, OH/Orville) reset her school record in the 60-meter hurdles from 9.02 to 8.95 seconds at the Denison University Bob Shannon Invitational on Saturday. Hargrave placed second in the event and finished behind senior Gabriella Parker from Robert Morris University (DI), who finished in 8.83 seconds. The junior's time ranks first in the league and is good for a three-way tie for 22nd in Division III.
 
Women's Indoor Track Distance/Mid-Distance Athlete of the Week – Lily Monnett, DePauw
DePauw junior Lily Monnett (Cloverdale, IN/Cloverdale) broke the school record in the 3000-meter run at Indiana State's Blue-White Classic. Monnett brought home the title in the event after crossing the finish line in 10:15.27, which ranks second in NCAC standings. The junior claims the new school record, which was previously set by her sister Claudia Monnett in 2017 (10:16.87).
 
Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week – Evie Sanford, Wooster
Wooster sophomore Eva Sanford (Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) broke a 28-year-old school record in the shot put at Saturday's Denison University Bob Shannon Invitational. Sanford's toss measured 12.92 meters to win the event and reset the previous school record of 12.35 meters. The throw currently ranks Sanford first in the conference.
 
NCAC Milestones & Records (Jan. 29 – Feb. 4)
 
Denison, Men's Basketball – Junior guard Cameron Smith (Cleveland, OH/University School) scored a career-high 25 points on 11-for-14 shooting from the floor in a tough 75-68 loss to Oberlin on Wednesday … Senior forward Emmett Burnside (Wilmette, IL/New Trier) grabbed a career-best 11 defensive rebounds and three blocks on the Big Red's senior day against Wabash.
 
Denison, Women's Basketball First-year guard Abby Cooch (Clifton, VA/Bishop Ireton) posted a career-best 21 points while connecting on 5-of-7 shots from behind the arc in Denison's 78-77 comeback win over Wittenberg on Saturday.
 
DePauw, Men's Indoor Track & Field – Junior Daniel Jansen (Okawville, IL/Okawville) broke his previous 60-meter hurdles record time (8.53) at Indiana State's Blue-White Classic. Jansen reset his program record in the prelims of the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.46 seconds and moved up to second in league rankings.
 
Hiram, Women's Indoor Track & Field – First-year Makyndree Smith (Parrish, FL/Parrish) broke her own program record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.66 seconds at Oberlin's Dan Kinsey Invite … First-year Sam Volpe (Concord, OH/Riverside) set the Hiram program record with a mark of 10.92 meters in the shot put this past Friday at the Dan Kinsey Invite. Volpe passes Monica Carter's record of 10.53 meters from 1995.
 
Kenyon, Men's Indoor Track & Field – Senior Riley Orth (Cincinnati, OH/Anderson) reset his school record in the weight throw at Denison's Bob Shannon Invitational on Saturday. Orth improved his mark for the third week in a row with a toss of 14.91 meters, good enough for second place in the event.
 
Oberlin, Men's Basketball – First-year guard JJ Gray (Huntington Beach, CA/Fountain Valley) recorded a career-high 28 points in a 79-69 win over Hiram on Saturday. He finished 9-of-18 from the field and went 9-of-11 from the line to go along with five rebounds and four assists … Oberlin defeated Denison for the first time since February 2, 2019, ending a seven-game slide against the Big Red.

Ohio Wesleyan, Men's Basketball – Sophomore wing Jessee Battle (Gahanna,OH/Lincoln) matched his career best 20 points in OWU's win over Hiram (78-64). Battle garnered 20 points after he found the net on 8-of-14 shots and 4-of-8 three point attempts. … Junior wing David Rice (Clevelandm, OH/Parma Padua Franciscan) matched his career best rebounds with 13 in the win over Hiram … Junior wing Landon Turnbull (Hicksville, OH/Hicksville) tied his career best 11 points after shooing 4-for-9 from field goal range and 3-for-6 from the distance in the Bishops' win over DePauw.

Wittenberg, Women's Basketball Junior guard Taryn Cash (Cincinnati, OH/Princeton) dished out 13 assists against Denison on Wednesday to reset the Wittenberg single-game program record. Cash bested the previous mark of 11 assists that was set by Yvonne Wilson on February 19th, 1991.
 
Wittenberg, Women's Indoor Track & Field – Sophomore Tiffany Hix (Prospect, OH/Elgin) placed fifth in the pole vault at the Cedarville Collegiate Invite with a new school record mark of 3.55 meters. Hix's mark broke the previous record of 3.38 meters, which was set in 2017 by Gabrielle Draginoff.
 
Wooster, Men's Basketball - Senior forward Nick Everett (Salem, OH/West Branch) set the program record with 24 consecutive made field goals, spanning from January 17th-February 3rd. Everett's remarkable run came two field goals shy of the NCAA Division III all-time record.
 
Wooster, Men's Indoor Track & Field – Senior Dylan Garretson (Newcomerstown, OH/Newcomerstown) improved his indoor school record in the pole vault to 16.62 meters on Friday after he competed at the University of Akron Invitational. Garretson's new record ranks first in the league and second in the nation.
