North Coast Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week – Week of April 30, 2024
Baseball Player of the Week – Edrick Padilla, Ohio Wesleyan
Ohio Wesleyan senior
Edrick Padilla (Salinas, Puerto Rico/Perkiomen (PA) School) hit .529 over four games during a 3-1 week for the Battling Bishops. Padilla guided Ohio Wesleyan to wins over Capital (9-3, 14-7) and John Carroll (8-5) and a tough loss to Marietta (7-2) as he went 9-for-17 with two home runs and three doubles to go with eight RBI and four runs scored. In the nightcap against Capital, Padilla crushed a bases-loaded double to help propel the Bishops' to the win and a doubleheader sweep.
Baseball Pitcher of the Week – Robbie Manuzzi, Wabash
Wabash junior
Robbie Manuzzi (Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence North) pitched five innings and limited Anderson to one hit and three walks in an 11-0 seven-inning win on Wednesday. Manuzzi held the Ravens to a .063 batting average and struck out two to earn his third victory of the season.
Men's Golf Athlete of the Week – J.F. Aber, Wittenberg
Wittenberg senior
J.F. Aber (Pittsburgh, PA/Sewickley Academy) led the Tigers at the Denison Spring Shootout on the par-71, 6,550-yard course at the Denison Golf Club on Sunday. Aber shot a 66 (-5) in the one round tournament to earn medalist honors by two strokes in the field of 67 competitors. The senior was one of three golfers with a score under par as he recorded six birdies and just one bogey throughout the tournament. The Tigers finished first out of 11 teams.
Women's Golf Athlete of the Week – Ally Siewert, Wooster
Wooster junior
Ally Siewert (Northfield, OH/Nordonia) golfed a collegiate-best to tie for a runner-up finish at the Denison Spring Shootout held at the par-73, 5,714-yard Denison Golf Club on Sunday. Siewert shot a 73 (+3) and was at even par through 12 holes after recording birdies on the 11th and 12th hole. The Fighting Scots placed third out of six teams.
Men's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week – Dillon McKeigue, Wittenberg
Wittenberg sophomore
Dillon McKeigue (Olmsted Township, OH/St. Edwards) tallied 17 points on 14 goals and three assists in a 2-0 week for the Tigers. In a 19-4 over Wabash, McKeigue netted five goals. Then in a 19-8 win at Westminster, the second-year had a record-breaking performance with 12 points on nine goals and three assists. His goal and point totals were both career highs, and he broke Wittenberg's all-time single-game points record, which had been set by
Jeff Mayer in 1990.
Men's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week – Andrew Albert, Denison
Denison sophomore
Andrew Albert (Weston, CT/The Hill School (PA)) made 15 saves and posted a .652 save percentage as the Big Red collected a 10-8 win at Ohio Wesleyan. With the two-goal win, Denison earned its fifth-straight and 22nd overall NCAC championship.
Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week – Kate Lengel, Kenyon
Kenyon senior
Kate Lengel (Glenwood, MD/Our Lady of Good Counsel) led the Owls as the team won two-straight matchups to earn a spot in the 2024 NCAC Tournament. In a 15-4 win against Oberlin, Lengel scored two goals and dished an assist. In a 19-7 win over DePauw, the senior tallied one assist and recorded four goals to surpass 100 career goals.
Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week – Lydia Hollis, DePauw
DePauw senior
Lydia Hollis (Findlay, OH/Culver Academies) made 10 saves in a 14-4 win over Wittenberg and then collected 14 saves in a tough 19-7 loss to Kenyon for 24 saves on the week. Between the two games she had three ground balls and a save percentage of .569.
Softball Player of the Week – Annabelle Calderon, Denison
Denison junior
Annabelle Calderon (Perris, CA/Orange Vista) hit .714 over four games during a 4-0 week for the Big Red. Calderon guided Denison to wins over Earlham (1-0, 4-2) and Kenyon (8-2, 9-0) as she went 10-for-14 with 10 RBI, two doubles, one triple, and one two-run home run. During the Big Red's sweep over Kenyon, Calderon was a perfect 7-for-7 with seven RBI between the two games, which included hitting for the cycle in the nightcap. Calderon's home run against the Owls was her 10th of the season, tying the program record originally set by
Brie Berkopec in 2010 and matched by
Erica Evans in 2011.
Softball Pitcher of the Week – Riley Depa, DePauw
DePauw first-year
Riley Depa (Mt. Prospect, IL/Prospect) earned wins over Wittenberg (8-6) and Hiram (4-2) last week. Over two games, Depa struck out 11 and walked four, holding opposing batters to a .171 average. Over the rookie's 11.1 innings pitched, she allowed just seven hits, two earned runs, four walks, and no extra bases. With the two wins, Depa helped keep the Tigers unbeaten in conference play.
Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week – Janaki Jagannathan, Wooster
Wooster junior
Janaki Jagannathan (Malvern, PA/Whitmore School (WV)) guided the Fighting Scots to a 6-3 win over Oberlin in the team's lone match last week. Jagannathan teamed with
Otilia Oita (North Olmsted, OH/ North Olmsted) for an 8-4 win in the No. 1 doubles slot and followed with a 6-2, 6-2 win in the No. 2 flight. The junior's win at No. 2 singles was her 23rd, moving her into a tie for second in the program record books.
Men's Outdoor Track & Field: Sprints/Hurdles – Conner Grimes, Wabash
Wabash sophomore
Conner Grimes (French Lick, IN/Springs Valley) earned a pair of top-two finishes at Saturday's Sycamore Open. Grimes finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.74 seconds, moving him up to fourth in NCAC standings this season. Grimes was also a part of the winning 4x100-meter relay team that combined for a time of 42.31 seconds to set a new meet record. Heading into the conference meet, Wabash owns the third-fastest time among NCAC competitors this season in the 4x100.
Men's Outdoor Track & Field: Mid/Distance – Will Neubauer, Wabash
Wabash junior
Will Neubauer (South Bend, IN/John Adams) moved up to first in conference standings after running 1:53.10 in the 800-meter run at Friday's Clark Wood Track and Field Invitational, hosted by the University of Louisville. With that time, Neubauer finished fourth in a field of 30, only placing behind a trio of Division I competitors.
Men's Outdoor Track & Field: Field – Jacob Brown, Denison
Denison senior
Jacob Brown (Dover, MA/Dover-Sherborn) won his third-consecutive NCAC decathlon title after recording a program record of 6,504 points at the 2024 NCAC Outdoor Track and Field Combined Events Championships.
Brown earned the win after taking first in the long jump (6.62m), shot put (12.54m), discus (32.01), pole vault (4.00m), javelin (47.10m), and 1500-meter run (4:45.15), while also earning a runner-up finish in the 110-meter hurdles (15.67), a third-place showing in both the 100-meter dash (11.46) and high jump (1.79m), and fourth in the 400-meter dash (53.15). In addition to ranking sixth in Division III in the decathlon this season, Brown also set new personal records in the 100-meter dash, long jump, and shot put in the process.
Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Sprints/Hurdles – Anaya Jolivette, Denison
Denison junior
Anaya Jolivette (San Francisco, CA/San Francisco Waldorf) tallied two first-place finishes at the Big Red Invitational on Friday. The junior won the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.80 seconds and ran the final leg of Denison's victorious 4x100-meter relay that finished in 49.12 seconds. With those times, Jolivette ranks fifth and second among conference standings, respectively.
Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Mid/Distance – Zoe Ward, Ohio Wesleyan
Ohio Wesleyan first-year
Zoe Ward (Columbus, OH/Worthington Christian) won the 1,500-meter run at the Big Red Invitational on Friday. Ward's time of 4:47.42 moves her up to fourth in NCAC standings this season.
Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Field – Katie Moore, DePauw
DePauw junior
Katie Moore (Lawrenceville, IL/Lawrenceville) claimed the heptathlon victory at the 2024 NCAC Outdoor Track and Field Combined Events Championships after scoring 4,437 points. Moore claimed the win after placing first in the long jump (4.95m), second in both the 100-meter hurdles (14.94) and 800-meter run (2:22.53), third in the shot put (8.93m), 200-meter dash (25.94), and javelin (30.72m), and tying for third in the high jump (1.43m). With that score, Moore ranks 16th in Division III and sits in third on the program's all-time list.
NCAC Milestones & Records (April 22-28)
Denison, Women's Lacrosse – Senior
Maddie Morrell (Columbus, OH/Pickerington Central) scored three goals and added a career-high five ground balls during her Senior Day as the Big Red defeated Ohio Wesleyan 14-7 to win its league-leading 23rd NCAC championship. Morrell's goal with 6:31 in the second quarter was good for her 100th career goal.
Denison, Men's Outdoor Track & Field – Junior
Jaylin Epps (Cordele, GA/Crisp County) won the 200-meter dash with a personal-record time of 21.90 seconds at the Big Red Invitational on Friday. Epps now ranks third in conference standings this season … Senior
Worth Hinshaw (Charlotte, NC/Charlotte Latin School) set a new personal record in the 3,000-meter run (9:02.86) at the Big Red Invitational.
Denison, Women's Outdoor Track & Field – Senior
Cara Bodary (New Boston, MI/Father Gabriel Richard) set a new personal record in the 1,500-meter run (4:54.65) at the Big Red Invitational on Friday.
DePauw, Baseball – In Saturday's double header against Kenyon, senior
Danny Glimco (Western Springs, IL/Benet Academy) hit two home runs to bring his total to 23, which breaks the DePauw baseball career home run record of 21 set by
Kyle Callahan (2019-22).
DePauw, Men's Lacrosse – The Tigers finished with eight wins to tie the program record set in 2017.

Graesen Campbell (Oak Park, CA/Oak Park) tallied 175 career points to break the program record of 174 points previously held by
Emma Kennedy (2019-22).
Kenyon, Men's Lacrosse – Sophomore
Adam Hall (Grand Rapids, MI/East Grand Rapids) recorded a career-high 20 saves in a 15-10 win over Wooster.
Ohio Wesleyan, Women's Lacrosse - Sophomore midfielder
Abbie Grogan (Louisville, KY/Kentucky Country Day) collected two ground balls in Ohio Wesleyan's game at Denison, raising her season total to 58 to break the single-season mark of 56 set by
Stephanie DeSoto in 2019.
Ohio Wesleyan, Men's Outdoor Track & Field – Junior
Trey Theobald (Archbold, OH/Archold) set a school record in the javelin with a throw of 59.12 meters at the Big Red Invitational on Friday. Theobald's throw bettered the school record of 58.87 meters set by
Aaron Port in 2016.
Ohio Wesleyan, Softball – Senior outfielder
Rylie Moore (Noblesville, IN/Noblesville) tied the school record for hits in a game by going 4-for-4 in the opener at Oberlin (9-7). In the nightcap (10-4), first-year outfielder
Chameron Vanden Eynden (Goshen, OH/Goshen) also tied that school record with a 4-for-5 performance.
Wabash, Baseball – Senior
AJ Reid (Highland, IN/Highland) became the third Wabash player in the 159-year history of the program to record 200 career hits after delivering a two-run home run in the first inning of Saturday's first game against Oberlin (21-8). Reid's 202 career hits trails
Chris Deig (206) and
Sean Roginski (208) on the Wabash all-time hits list.
Wabash, Men's Lacrosse – Freshman
Quinn Shefferly (Fishers, IN/Hamilton Southeastern) caused three turnovers and scooped up three ground balls in a pair of conference matches. Shefferly finished his rookie campaign with 50 caused turnovers to break the previous single-season record of 48 set by
Evan Schiefelbein in 2022.
