Dalton Christopher Joins Transylvania Athletic Department

LEXINGTON, KY - Dalton Christopher has joined the athletic department at Transylvania University as Assistant Athletic Director of Communications and Media.

Christopher arrives after seven seasons at Campbellsville University Harrodsburg as Director of Athletics. He also served as Sports Information Director in the final two seasons of his tenure. Christopher was a member of the inaugural staff that launched the athletic department in Harrodsburg in 2017. In 2022, Christopher was recognized with the Barney II and Moore Foundation Servant Leadership Award at Campbellsville University for service to the campus community and for his work in developing the athletic department in Harrodsburg. 

Christopher also served as an Athletic Admissions Counselor, Residential Life Advisor and as a member of the inaugural Men's Basketball coaching staff at Harrodsburg. 

"We are very fortunate to have hired Dalton, whose extensive experience in athletics is complemented by a deep commitment to enhancing the student-athlete experience," said Holly Sheilley, Vice President of Athletics. "That is an element that is vital to our mission."

Prior to his time with Campbellsville University Harrodsburg, Christopher earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Digital Media from the University of Kentucky in 2018. During his time at Kentucky, he served as a Game Day staff member for UK Athletics, working with the Media Relations staff for football, women's basketball and various other athletic events. 
"I am thrilled to join such a tremendous group of coaches, student athletes and administrators at this historic institution," Christopher said. "I look forward to bringing the experiences I have to contribute to our team, while developing and learning from the experiences of the many accomplished leaders within our program."

In addition to his athletic administration experience, Christopher also has a background in broadcasting, radio and print media. He has also been recognized for work in the community of Lexington, being recognized by the STEAM Academy for Diversity and Community Initiatives in 2016.
