CLEVELAND, OH - Five North Coast Athletic Conference institutions appeared in the fall update of the 2024-25 Division III LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings. DePauw led the NCAC, ranking 35th among 181 institutions receiving points.
The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships across the fall, winter, and spring seasons.
DePauw collected 159 points overall with 64 points earned in football after the Tigers advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament, while the women’s cross country team competed at the national championships, placing 29th to earn 45 points. The men’s and women’s soccer teams also competed in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, earning 25 points apiece.
Ohio Wesleyan is in a four-way tie for 57th place with 100 points. The Battling Bishops earned 50 points in men’s soccer after the team advanced to the second round of the national tournament. The field hockey and volleyball teams picked up another 25 points each after earning the NCAC automatic qualifying bids in their respective sports.
Denison sits in a five-way tie for 82nd place with 73 points, thanks to the men’s soccer team, who advanced to the quarterfinals of the national men’s soccer tournament.
Kenyon follows closely behind Denison after collecting 64 points. The Owls are in a nine-way tie for 87th after the men’s soccer program advanced to the third round of the NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Tournament.
Wittenberg is in a four-way tie for 132nd after the women’s cross country program finished inside the top-five at the Great Lakes Regional, earning 31 points for the Tigers.
Johns Hopkins currently leads all Division III schools with 495.5 points, while Middlebury is in second with 348.0 points, and Washington & Lee is in third with 343.5 points. The winter standings will begin distribution on Thursday, April 3.
