Phillips, Johnson Named to DIII Athletic Communicators Emerging Elite Program

GREENWOOD, IN – Thirty Division III athletic communicators have been selected for the second class of the NCAA Division III Athletic Communicators Emerging Elite Program, a professional development initiative created in partnership with College Sports Communicators (CSC) and D3SIDA. Among those selected are Amanda Phillips, Director of Athletics Communications and Game Day Operations at Oberlin College, and Dani Johnson, Director of Athletic Communications at the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC).

The Emerging Elite Program is designed to elevate the next generation of athletic communication leaders in Division III. Launched in 2024, the initiative takes place each December at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis and features interactive sessions on leadership development, team management, cross-department collaboration, and the evolving landscape of college athletics communications. Participants, all of whom were nominated by their leaders and peers, also receive complimentary registration to the annual CSC UNITE Convention, held each June.

“On behalf of College Sports Communicators, I want to congratulate this outstanding group of Division III athletic communicators selected for the Emerging Elite Program,” said CSC Executive Director Jason Yaman. “These professionals represent the future of our field — innovative storytellers, dedicated collaborators, and emerging leaders who are strengthening the visibility and impact of Division III athletics. We’re proud to partner with the NCAA Division III and D3SIDA in supporting their continued growth and success.”
