CLEVELAND, OH – John Carroll graduate student point guard Luke Chicone (Mentor, OH/Mentor) was named a preseason first-team All-America selection by D3hoops.com, announced Thursday by the organization.
Chicone appeared in just four games in 2024-25 before an injury sidelined him for the remainder of the season. In those contests, the point guard averaged 14.5 points, 5.0 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game.
During the 2023-24 campaign, Chicone was named the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Player of the Year, earning first-team all-conference honors and a D3hoops.com All-Region 7 First Team selection after averaging 18.7 points, 5.2 assists, and 2.3 steals per game. As a junior, he ranked tied for 10th nationally in assists (152) and helped lead John Carroll to a 26-3 overall record, capture both the OAC regular-season and tournament titles and advance into the second round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
Now healthy and ready for his final season, Chicone will lead the Blue Streaks into their first year as a member of the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC).
