Wittenberg Captures 27th NCAC Volleyball Title, Enters Tourney as Top Seed 11/10/2025 10:00:00 AM Share: CLEVELAND, OH – The Wittenberg Tigers (7-0) completed an unbeaten conference run to secure their league-leading 27th NCAC championship, reclaiming the crown for the first time since 2022. Allegheny follows Wittenberg with five conference titles, while Denison, Hiram, Kenyon and Ohio Wesleyan have two championships apiece. DePauw captured its first title in 2023; Wooster earned the inaugural conference trophy in 1984. John Carroll (6-1) took second in the conference standings, followed by Ohio Wesleyan (5-2), Denison (4-3), DePauw (3-4), Kenyon (2-5), Wooster (1-6), and Oberlin (0-7) As league champions, Wittenberg has earned the No. 1 seed and hosting rights for the 2025 NCAC Volleyball tournament final four. The tournament is set to take place November 11-15. The quarterfinals will take place at the number three and four seeds on Tuesday, Nov. 11, while the Ohio Tigers will host the semifinals and championship match, Friday - Saturday, Nov. 14-15 in Springfield, Ohio.. In the quarterfinal matchups, No. 6 Kenyon travels to No. 3 Ohio Wesleyan, while No. 4 Denison hosts No. 5 DePauw. Both matches are set to play at 7:00 p.m. During the regular season, the Battling Bishops defeated the Owls in straight sets, while the Big Red edged the Indiana Tigers 3-1. In the semifinal round, No. 2 John Carroll awaits the winner of the Ohio Wesleyan versus Kenyon quarterfinal for a 5:00 p.m. matchup, while top-seeded Wittenberg will square off against the winner of the Denison versus DePauw quarterfinal at 7:30 p.m. The championship match will be contested in Springfield as the semifinal winners will compete for the tournament title and receive the NCAC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. TOURNEY NOTES: Ohio Wesleyan is the defending champion after capturing its third NCAC tournament title in 2024. Allegheny owns five NCAC tourney titles, while Kenyon holds a pair of titles. DePauw captured its first tournament title in 2019, Hiram claimed the 2006 title and Wooster earned the inaugural tournament crown in 1984 ...
