MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Twenty-one North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) football players were named to the 2025 D3football.com All-Region Team, released Wednesday, December 10. John Carroll graduate student quarterback
Nick Semptimphelter (Franklin, TN/Battle Ground Academy) and Head Coach
Jeff Behrman headlined the All-Region selections, earning Offensive Player and Coach of the Year honors, respectively.
Of the 21 selections, DePauw led all NCAC programs with 10 honorees, followed by John Carroll with six and Wabash with two, while Denison, Wittenberg, and Wooster each tallied one selection apiece.
Semptimphelter has been the engine of John Carroll’s offense, delivering one of the most efficient seasons in all of Division III football. The graduate student has thrown for 3,060 yards and 31 touchdowns while completing 79.3 percent of his passes, leading the nation, regardless of division, in completion percentage. He also ranks second in the league for passing touchdowns and holds a league low of just three interceptions on 333 attempts. Semptimphelter ranks third in the NCAC in passing efficiency (185.4), average yards per game (255.0), total passing yards, and total offense with 2,979 yards across 373 plays (248.3 per game). His season included a 25-for-26 performance in the team’s opener at Waynesburg, which briefly set the NCAA Division III single-game record for completion percentage.
Behrman, a 1995 John Carroll graduate, captured Region 4 Coach of the Year after leading the Blue Streaks to an 11-1 record and into the NCAA Quarterfinals as they look to push deeper into the postseason. In his third season, Behrman guided JCU to its first NCAC title with an 8-0 conference record while overseeing units that led the league in the regular season through 10 games in rushing yards (2,007), total offense (4,644), rushing touchdowns (28), total touchdowns (57), points scored (451), completion percentage (.791), passing efficiency (191.80), and red-zone offense (.934). Defensively, the Blue Streaks held regular-season opponents to league lows in total yards allowed (2,176), passing yards allowed (1,843), and touchdowns surrendered (16), while ranking second in rushing defense (33.3 yards per game). Nationally, JCU currently ranks first in completion percentage (.785), second in rushing defense (39.3), fourth in total defense (212.7), sixth in passing efficiency (183.4), and seventh in red-zone offense (.924). Behrman is the program’s second coach to receive regional coach of the year honors, joining
Tom Arth, who earned the award in both 2013 and 2016.
