Men’s Basketball – Joe Smith, DePauw
DePauw junior guard Joe Smith (Mishawaka, IN/Penn) scored a career-high 15 points in a 77-65 win over Wooster, helping the Tigers open NCAC play with a 3-0 record for the first time since joining the league in 2011-12. Smith added three assists and two steals while committing zero turnovers in the victory.
Women’s Basketball – Katherine Csiszar, Oberlin
Oberlin senior forward Katherine Csiszar (Pacific Palisades, CA/Louisville) averaged 13.0 points and 11.5 rebounds across two games, helping the Crimson and Gold to a 1-1 week with a 58-52 win over Kalamazoo and a hard-fought 66-48 loss to Adrian. The senior recorded career highs in points (15), rebounds (17), assists (6), blocks (5), and minutes (38) in the win against the Hornets, marking her second career double-double, while adding two steals. Csizar followed with 11 points, six rebounds, and four steals against the Bulldogs.
Men’s Swimming & Diving – Evan Hasenkampf, Wooster
Wooster first-year Evan Hasenkampf (Mandeville, LA/Mandeville) earned Division III runner-up honors at Saturday’s College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) College National Open Water Championship. The rookie completed the 5k open water swim in 59:01.2, finishing 58th overall in the field and second among the 11 Division III competitors.
Women’s Swimming & Diving – Jordan Laba, DePauw
DePauw first-year Jordan Laba (Oakland, MI/Rochester Adams) captured the Division III group title at Saturday’s College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) College National Open Water Championship. Laba completed the 5k open water swim in 1:02:06, finishing 56th overall in a field of 119 competitors and first among the Division III swimmers.
Milestones & Records (Dec. 8-14)
John Carroll, Football – The Blue Streaks defeated No. 17 Berry, 21-13, in the NCAA Division III Football Championship quarterfinals to advance to the semifinal round for the third time in program history and the first since 2016. John Carroll will travel to Naperville, Illinois, to face North Central on Saturday, December 20, at 4:30 p.m.
