CLEVELAND, OH - Three North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) student-athletes earned national recognition as DePauw senior
Robby Ballentine (Crown Point, IN/Andrean), John Carroll graduate student
Tyren Montgomery (Woodlands, TX/The Woodlands College Park), and Wabash senior
Quinn Sholar (Indianapolis, IN/Warren Central) were named to the 2025 Associated Press NCAA Division III Football All-America Teams.
Ballentine earned first-team honors after recording one of the top receiving seasons in Division III this season. One of three wide receivers selected to the first team, he set DePauw single-season records with 92 receptions and 1,314 receiving yards, while adding 16 touchdown catches. Ballentine recorded at least four receptions in every game and caught a touchdown pass in 11 of the Tigers’ 12 contests. He posted program-record performances of 244 receiving yards at Centre and 246 yards at Denison, where he tied a school record with 16 receptions. The 2025 Mike Gregory Award recipient as the NCAC Offensive Player of the Year, Ballentine helped lead DePauw to a 10-2 record and a third-round appearance in the NCAA Division III Football Championships. His postseason accolades also include being named a William V. Campbell Trophy finalist and a Gagliardi Trophy semifinalist.
Montgomery was named to the second team as he continues to add to his record-setting season at John Carroll. The graduate student set new single-season program records with 109 receptions and 1,392 receiving yards, while adding 14 touchdown catches so far this season. He recorded at least five receptions in all 13 games and posted eight or more catches in each of his last five outings, including 28 receptions for 304 yards across three NCAA postseason games. A First Team All-NCAC and All-Region selection, Montgomery was also named an All-American by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). John Carroll is set to face North Central in the semifinal round of the NCAA Division III Football Championships on Saturday, December 20.
Sholar also earned second-team recognition after anchoring Wabash’s offensive line throughout the 2025 season. A four-time First Team All-NCAC selection at left tackle, he helped lead one of the conference’s most balanced offenses. Wabash ranked second in the NCAC in rushing offense (141.9 yards per game), third in both scoring (37.1 points per game) and passing offense (268.9 yards per game), and fourth in total offense (410.8 yards per contest). A D3football.com Preseason Second Team All-America selection, Sholar helped guide the Little Giants to an 8-2 regular-season record and the program’s second-consecutive postseason bowl appearance.
