KANSAS CITY, MO - United Soccer Coaches announced its 2025 Scholar All-Region men’s soccer teams, with the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) represented by Denison senior defender Henri Heyes (New Albany, OH/New Albany) on the first team and DePauw junior goalkeeper Sam Ortner (Wauwatosa, WI/Wauwatosa East) on the second team.
Following his first-team All-Region selection, Heyes advanced to the national ballot and earned United Soccer Coaches Second Team Scholar All-America honors. The senior started all 21 matches of his final collegiate season and anchored a Denison defense that recorded 12 shutouts during the 2025 campaign. The NCAC Defensive Player of the Year also contributed offensively, finishing the season with five goals on 20 shots, nine of which were on target. In the classroom, Heyes carries a 3.45 grade-point average while studying Economics, East Asian Studies, and Global Commerce.
Ortner, a computer science major with a 3.81 GPA, earned his first United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region honor. On the field, the junior started 19 matches for the Tigers and earned a nod to the 2025 All-NCAC first team after posting a 1.14 goals-against average with seven shutouts through 1,665 minutes between the posts this season.
The United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America teams are composed of student-athletes from across the nation and are divided into multiple teams. To be eligible for consideration, nominees must meet United Soccer Coaches’ academic requirements and demonstrate elite on-field performance.
