DePauw Captures First NCAC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Title

OBERLIN, OH -- The DePauw women won their first NCAC title in program history at the 2025 NCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at Oberlin's John W. Heisman Field House in Oberlin, Ohio. The Tigers topped the team standings at the two-day meet with 199 points, clearing the next closest team by 42 points. Wittenberg checked in with 157 points for second, followed by Ohio Wesleyan in third (118), Denison in fourth (83), Kenyon in fifth (57), Wooster in sixth (38), Oberlin in seventh (34) and Hiram in eighth (14).
 
2025 NCAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year Award Winners:
 
Women's Field & Newcomer of the Year: Isabelle Henderson, Wittenberg
Wittenberg first-year Isabelle Henderson (East Liberty, OH/Benjamin Logan) earned newcomer of the year honors as well as the league's top award in field events after earning three all-NCAC honors. She made it to the top of the podium after she claimed the NCAC crown in the long jump with a leap of 5.51 meters. Henderson also earned all-conference nods after she placed second in both the high jump (1.59 meters) and pentathlon (3,039 points). The East Liberty, Ohio native also placed fourth in the 200-meter dash (26.02), fifth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.17), and seventh in the 60-meter dash (8.06) to conclude the meet earning 37 points for the Tigers.
 
Women's Sprint/Hurdles: Katherine Dortmund, Ohio Wesleyan
Ohio Wesleyan first-year Katherine Dortmund (Westerville, OH/Columbus St. Francis DeSales) earned the award after winning two events at the 2025 championships. She claimed the 60-meter dash title in a time of 7.78 seconds and was on the winning 4x200 meter relay team. Dortmund and fellow classmates Aelyn Baumbarger (Marysville, OH/Marysville), Yehdeiah Dennis (Columbus, OH/Beechcroft), and Kennedy Elfers (Powel, OH/Olentangy Liberty) finished the 4x200 in 1:44.72. The Westerville, Ohio native also earned All-NCAC honors in the 60-meter hurdles after she finished second with a time of 8.739. Dortmund also finished sixth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.26.
 
Women's Distance/Middle Distance: Sophie Porter, DePauw
DePauw senior Sophie Porter (Westfield, IN/Westfield) collected the award as the league's top distance runner over the course of the meet as she claimed three conference crowns. The junior won the mile, breaking the tape in 5:08.44, crossed first in the 3,000-meter run, finishing in 10:25.96, and claimed the title in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:51.17.
 
Women's Coaching Staff of the Year: DePauw
The DePauw Tigers earned NCAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Coaching Staff of the Year honors for the first time in program history. Kori Stoffregen and his staff, Colt Slack, Peter Crary, and Jada Amis guided the Tigers to the program's first conference title after earning 15 All-NCAC performances including seven NCAC event titles.
