2025 All-NCAC Men's Basketball Team Released

CLEVELAND, OH -- Ohio Wesleyan senior guard Henry Hinkle (Powell, OH/Olentangy Liberty) has been named the Player of the Year and Wabash senior post Noah Hupmann (Sunset, SC/Covington Catholic) has been selected the league's Top Defensive Player to highlight the 2024-25 All-North Coast Athletic Conference men's basketball squad, as selected by the league's head coaches.

Hinkle claims OWU’s 13th NCAC Player of the Year award, the program’s first since Jack Clement was selected in 2022-23. The senior is one of only two players this season that is a four-time all-conference selection, earning back-to-back first-team honors after a third-team nod in 2022-23 and honorable mention laurels in 2021-22. In conference play, Hinkle topped the league with the most field goals made at 96, ranked second in scoring after averaging 17.8 points per game and ranked in the top three in both three-point field goals made (36) and free throw percentage (.862; 56-of-65). In 505 minutes of NCAC action, the guard averaged 2.7 assists, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.0 steal per game. Hinkle posted double-digit scoring in 14 of the 16 league games, including six in which he scored 21 or more points. The senior dished three or more assists in seven league matchups, which included tying his career-high of nine assists in the Bishops’ matchup with DePauw on Jan. 22.

Hupmann collects Wabash’s first Top Defensive Player award, an honor that had previously been awarded to players from Wittenberg and Wooster since its inception in the 2016-17 season. The senior collects his first all-conference certificate after being named to the second team this season. Hupmann anchored a Wabash defensive unit that limited NCAC opponents to both a league-low 60.5 points per game and .382 shooting percentage. In 16 conference games, the post player led the league in total rebounds (155), defensive rebounds (114) and blocked shots (55) per game, averaging 9.7 total rebounds, 7.1 defensive boards and 3.4 blocks per game. Hupmann recorded five or more defensive rebounds in 11 of the 16 NCAC matchups, including two games in which he pulled in a season-high 13 defensive boards. He tallied three or more blocks in 13 conference games, while also producing on offense for the Little Giants, averaging 6.4 points per game in conference play.

Wooster senior guard Jamir Billings (Lorain, OH/Lorain) joins Hinkle as the only four-time all-conference selection, as the former two-time Top Defensive Player (2024, 2022) and former Newcomer of the Year (2022) collected second-team honors a season ago, first-team accolades in 2022-23 and honorable-mention laurels in 2021-22. Denison senior forward Ricky Radtke (Willoughby, OH/University School) earns his third All-NCAC selection, elevating to the first team after collecting second-team honors the last two seasons, while Wabash senior guard Vinny Buccilla (Fishers, IN/Hamilton Southeastern) earns his second first-team all-conference certificate after previously earning a top-team nod in 2022-23, and DePauw sophomore forward Reph Stevenson (Fishers, IN/Hamilton Southeastern) makes the jump to the first team after a third-team selection last season.

Kenyon first-year forward Marius Mazeika (Rumsiskes, Lithuania/Woodberry Forest (VA)) collected the NCAC's Newcomer of the Year award as the league's top player in his first year of collegiate competition. He is the third Owl to earn the newcomer award, and first Kenyon player since Kodey Haddox was named in 2007-08. Mazeika, who started in all 16 NCAC matchups this season, posted the sixth-most minutes played in the league with 503 and recorded the fifth-best free-throw percentage at .843 (43-of-51). Against conference foes, he ranked in the top-15 in points (208), points per game (13.0), rebounds per game (5.2), field goals made (69), three-point field goals made (27) and free throws made (43). The rookie also collected 1.6 assists per game, to go along with eight steals in conference action. Mazeika scored in double figures in 10 NCAC matchups, which included three games with 20 or more points, recording a season-high 23 against Wooster on Feb. 5.

Denison claimed the 2025 Coaching Staff of the Year honors, the third coaching award in program history. The Big Red are led by Head Coach Chris Sullivan and Assistants Ethan Quinn and Nate Haller. The Denison squad was guided to their first NCAC championship title after compiling a 14-2 record in conference play. In 16 conference games, the Big Red were the most efficient from the floor (424-for-912; .465) and from behind the arc (135-for-370; .365), while averaging a league-high 73.9 points per game and recording the conference’s best scoring margin at 12.3. On the glass in NCAC play, Denison held opponents to the lowest total rebounds per game (30.1) and gathered the second-most offensive rebounds per game (9.8). The Big Red dished the most assists per game (14.69), recorded the second-most steals per game (8.13), and posted the second-best turnover margin (1.94) in league action.
