Baseball Player of the Week – Evan Neukam, Wabash
Wabash senior Evan Neukam (Carmel, IN/Carmel) had a strong week at the plate, batting .550 over five games. Neukam went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, and two runs scored in a 19-2 win over Kenyon, then added three more hits, including two triples, in the nightcap. He followed with a two-run double in a 13-7 win over Earlham and closed out the week with three hits, an RBI, and two runs scored in a 6-2 win over Wooster.
Baseball Pitcher of the Week – Sam Larson, Denison
Denison sophomore Sam Larson (Lake Forest, IL/Lake Forest) delivered an impressive performance in Tuesday's 10-0 win at Marietta. Larson worked six scoreless innings, allowing only three hits and no walks, while striking out 11 to earn the victory.
Men's Golf Athlete of the Week – Jonathan Oakes, Kenyon
Kenyon sophomore Jonathan Oakes (Dobbs Ferry, NY/US Performance Academy) claimed his first career medalist honors after carding rounds of 72 and 70 for a two-under-par 142 at John Carroll University's Caschera/DiCillo Classic. Oakes was the only player in the field to finish under par, marking the fourth time he's done so in nine outings this season. The sophomore led the tournament with two eagles, tied for first in par-3 scoring with a 2.88 average, and posted the second-best par-5 scoring with a 4.38 average.
Women's Golf Athlete of the Week – Becky Williams, DePauw
DePauw junior Becky Williams (Noblesville, IN/University High School of Indiana) captured medalist honors at Millikin's Take Back the Night Challenge, winning the event with a 147 (72-75). Williams finished six strokes ahead of the runner-up and tied for the tournament lead with five birdies across the two rounds.
Men's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week – Carson Geier, Ohio Wesleyan
Ohio Wesleyan senior attackman Carson Geier (Milford, OH/Milford) played a key role in helping the Battling Bishops go 2-0 on the week to capture the 2025 NCAC title. The senior had one assist and scored five goals to share the team lead in OWU's 23-8 win over Wooster on Wednesday. Geier followed that with a four-goal effort in a 15-13 victory over Denison on Saturday, helping the Bishops break an 8-8 tie by scoring three times during a decisive 4-0 run to open the second half.
Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week – Anna DeVuono, Denison
Denison senior attacker Anna DeVuono (Devon, PA/Conestoga) played a key role in helping the Big Red go 2-0 last week to secure the 2025 NCAC crown. The senior scored seven goals and picked up one ground ball and one caused turnover in Denison's 15-10 win at Wooster on Tuesday. DeVuono followed that performance with a three-goal, one-assist effort in a 22-3 victory over Wittenberg on Saturday to finish the week with 10 goals, one assist, and a .750 shot percentage.
Softball Player of the Week – Annabelle Calderon, Denison
Denison senior Annabelle Calderon (Perris, CA/Orange Vista) turned in an outstanding week at the plate, hitting .733 (11-for-15) with eight runs scored, four RBI, six doubles, and a home run. The senior posted two hits, including a double, and scored twice in a 6-3 win at Marietta, then followed with a two-hit, three-run effort in the nightcap. Calderon added three hits in a 3-2 loss at Wooster before finishing the week with a 4-for-4 performance, driving in three runs and scoring twice in a 4-0 game two win over the Fighting Scots. With six doubles on the week, Calderon set a new Denison record for career doubles with 50, breaking the previous mark of 46. She also became the program's all-time leader in total bases, reaching 342 to surpass the former record of 329.
Softball Pitcher of the Week – Sydney Silverstein, Denison
Denison senior Sydney Silverstein (Atlanta, GA/Pace Academy) went 2-0 on the week, recording a pair of shutouts to tie the Denison and NCAC single-season record with eight. The senior worked 12 scoreless innings over two starts, giving up just nine hits and striking out seven. Silverstein posted a five-inning, five-hit shutout with two strikeouts in a 13-0 win over Marietta, and then tossed a seven-inning, four-hit shutout with five strikeouts in a 4-0 win at Wooster on Saturday.
Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week – Rafael Rin, Wabash
Wabash sophomore Rafael Rin (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil/Colegio Santo Inácio) helped the Little Giants close out the 2024-25 regular season with a 5-2 non-conference win at Ohio Northern on Friday. Rin teamed up with junior Augusto Ghidini (Santa Cruz Do Sul, Brazil/Colégio Anglo-Americano) for a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles and followed with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles to secure the first team point for Wabash.
Men's Outdoor Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Week – Pierce Patterson, Denison
Denison sophomore Pierce Patterson (Bronxville, NY/Bronxville) earned a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash at the Denison Big Red Invitational. Patterson finished in a personal-best time of 49.49 seconds, which currently ranks third in the NCAC and eighth all-time in Denison program history.
Men's Outdoor Distance/Mid-Distance Athlete of the Week – Leo Wisnefski, Denison
Denison sophomore Leo Wisnefski (Cranford, NJ/Union Catholic Regional) posted a strong showing at the Denison Big Red Invitational, winning the 800-meter run with a personal-best time of 1:57.30.
Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week – Daniel Jansen, DePauw
DePauw senior Daniel Jansen (Okawville, IL/Okawville) claimed the decathlon title at the 2025 NCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships after finishing with 6,155 points. Jansen secured first-place finishes in the long jump (6.31m), pole vault (4.25m), and javelin throw (42.60m). He also tied for first in the high jump (1.86m), placed second in the shot put (10.86m) and discus throw (33.15m), earned third-place finishes in the 100-meter dash (11.52), 110-meter hurdles (15.74), and 400-meter dash (53.71) and collected a a sixth-place finish in the 1500-meter run (5:24.48).
Women's Outdoor Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Week – Anaya Jolivette, Denison
Denison senior Anaya Jolivette (San Francisco, CA/San Francisco Waldorf) turned in standout performances at the Denison Big Red Invitational, winning the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.52 seconds and helping the 4x100-meter relay team to a first-place finish (48.91).
Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week – Katie Moore, DePauw
DePauw senior Katie Moore (Lawrenceville, IL/Lawrenceville) delivered an outstanding performance at the 2025 NCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, winning the heptathlon with 4,751 points. Moore's victory was powered by first-place finishes in the javelin (33.92m) and 800-meter run (2:24.39). She also tied for first in the high jump (1.53m) and earned second-place finishes in the 100-meter hurdles (14.67), 200-meter dash (26.68), shot put (10.00m), and long jump (5.24m).
NCAC Milestones & Records (April 21-27)
Denison, Men's Lacrosse – Senior midfielder Jack Hines (Charlotte, NC/Episcopal) reached a career milestone on Saturday, scoring his 100th career point in the team's 15-13 loss to Ohio Wesleyan.
Denison, Softball – The Big Red broke the program's single-season home run record during their game against Marietta, surpassing the previous mark of 33. Denison now has 38 home runs on the season.
DePauw, Men's Lacrosse – Senior Matthew Roman (Kensington, MD/Walter Johnson) became the program's all-time leader in career ground balls, collecting his 260th to set a new DePauw men's lacrosse record.
Ohio Wesleyan, Women's Lacrosse – Senior defender Abbie Grogan (Louisville, KY/Kentucky Country Day) collected four ground balls in Saturday's game at Kenyon, raising her season total to 62 and breaking her own Ohio Wesleyan record of 60 ground balls set last season.
Wooster, Men's Lacrosse – Head coach Eric Seideman earned his 100th career victory as the Fighting Scots defeated Hiram 22-1 on Friday.
