CLEVELAND, OH - Eight North Coast Athletic Conference institutions appeared in the winter update of the 2024-25 Division III LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings. Denison led the NCAC, ranking 38th among 279 institutions receiving points.
The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships across the fall, winter, and spring seasons.
Denison ranks 38th after accumulating 73.00 points in the fall and 205.00 points in the winter. The Big Red picked up 100 points from the men’s swimming & diving team, which secured the program’s sixth national title. Denison earned another 80 points from the women’s swimming & diving program as they placed fourth at the national championships. Additionally, the men’s basketball team contributed 25.00 points with a 33rd-place finish at the NCAA Tournament.
Kenyon follows at 50th with 224.00 points overall, earning 64.00 points in the fall and 160.00 points in the winter. The Owls’ women’s swimming & diving team claimed third place at the NCAA Division III Championship for 85.00 points, while the men’s team added 75.00 points with a fifth-place finish.
DePauw ranks 65th with 184.00 points after collecting 159.00 points in the fall and 25.00 points in the winter. The Tigers’ winter total came from their women’s basketball team, which secured 25.00 points with a 33rd-place finish at the NCAA Tournament.
Ohio Wesleyan sits tied for 71st with 164.00 points overall, adding 100.00 points in the fall and 64.00 points in the winter. The Battling Bishops’ winter points came from their women’s basketball team, which finished ninth nationally to earn 64.00 points.
Hiram and Wooster are in a three-way tie for 214th with 33.00 points each. Hiram’s total came entirely from its men’s indoor track & field team, which placed 39th nationally to earn 33.00 points. Meanwhile, Wooster’s winter success came from its women’s swimming & diving program, which finished 36th at the national championships to contribute 33.00 points.
Wittenberg rounds out the NCAC representatives, ranking 220th with 31.00 points, all of which came from the fall season.
Johns Hopkins currently leads all Division III schools with 865.0 points, while NYU is in second with 727.0 points, and Emory is in third with 662.5 points. The spring standings will begin distribution on Tuesday, June 10.
