The Big Red defeated Greenville, while the Owls beat No. 16 Haverford. The win advances Denison and Kenyon into the third round, which will be played Sunday, May 11, at 12:00 p.m. The Big Red will host No. 9 Swarthmore, while the Owls will take on host No. 5 Case Western Reserve. Granville, OH, Second Round - Denison 4, Greenville 0 Denison took a 1-0 lead over Greenville after doubles as Colin Gramley (Sharon, PA/Shady Side Academy) and Jacob Patterson (Bridgeville, PA/South Fayette) won 6-1 at the No. 2 flight and Andreas Chapides (Limassol, Cyprus/ES International School) and Chika Nwaozuzu (Orange) collected a 6-1 victory at No. 3 doubles. In singles, Ethan Green (Salt Lake City, UT/Skyline), Nick Meyers (Cincinnati, OH/Sycamore) and Chapides collected straight-set victories. Meyers picked up the first singles point with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5, while Chapides earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 4 and Green solidified the team win with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1. Cleveland, OH, Second Round - Kenyon 4, Haverford 0 Kenyon took a 1-0 lead over Haverford after doubles as Paulo Pocasangre Kreling (Guacimo, Costa Rica/Interamerican High School CATI) and Alejandro Gonzalez (Monterrey, Mexico/Citizens) claimed a 6-1 victory at No. 1 and Josh Finkle (Newtown, PA/The Pennington School) and Eric Zhang (Barrington, RI/Barrington) collected a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles. In singles, Pocasangre Kreling, Gonzalez and Rakkan Audeh (Washington, DC/Georgetown Day) posted straight-set victories. Pocasangre Kreling earned the Owls’ their first singles point with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1, while Gonzalez recorded a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 2 and Audeh solidified the team victory with identical 6-2, 6-2 wins at No. 6.
