Kenyon Bows Out in NCAA Women’s Tennis Third Round

ST. LOUIS, MO – No. 26 ranked Kenyon fell 4-0 to No. 9 Washington University in Saint Louis in the third round of the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship.
 
Although the season came to a close for the Kenyon team, junior Eleni Lazaridou (Veroia, Greece/4th Lyceum of Veria) and first-year Hana Nouaime (Eagleville, PA/Methacton) still remain in play, as Lazaridou will head to Claremont as one of 32 players to compete in next week's NCAA Division III Singles Championship, while the duo will compete in the Doubles Championship.

  • Despite Kenyon’s doubles pair of Clare Hudson (Louisville, KY/Assumption) and Shadia Amado Aguad (Arequipa, Peru/Colegio Anglo Americano Presco) being up 6-5 in the second flight, the match was abandoned as WashU collected two wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 flights for the one-point advantage heading into singles play.
  • In singles, WashU took a 3-0 lead after winning 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 3 flight and a 6-1, 6-1 win at No 4. The match clinching point came at No. 2, in which Ana Brand (Aschaffenburg, Germany/Friedrich-Dessauer-Gymnasium) dropped a tough 6-2, 6-4 matchup to Caitlin Bui, the No. 11 ranked singles player in the country. Before the match was clinched, Lazaridou was winning her top-flight matchup 6-2, 4-2.
