NCAC Quartet Qualify for NCAA Men's Tennis Individual Tourney

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- The NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Committee has selected the individuals who will compete in the singles and doubles competition of the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships. Among the selections were a quartet of juniors including Denison’s Ethan Green (Salt Lake City, UT/Skyline), Jacob Patterson (Bridgeville, PA/South Fayette) and Kael Shah (Nairobi, Kenyon/ES American School Barcelona (Spain)) and Kenyon‘s Paulo Pocasangre Kreling (Guacimo, Costa Rica/Interamerican High School CATI) who were invited to participate in the Singles Championship, while Green and Shah were invited to the Doubles Championship.
 
The Big Red junior trio returns to the national individual championships for the second time, while Pocasangre Kreling is set to make his debut at the event.
 
Patterson is currently ranked No. 22 in the ITA national singles rankings and eighth in the regional rankings, holding a 17-6 dual match record and a 22-9 overall record so far this season. He has recorded a 3-1 mark at No. 1 singles, 8-4 at No. 2, and 6-1 at No. 3.

Shah holds the No. 3 spot in the ITA national singles rankings and is ranked first in the region, with a 18-4 dual match record and a 28-6 overall mark to date. His singles record includes 4-3 at No. 1, 7-0 at No. 2, and 7-1 at No. 3.

Green is ranked No. 4 in the latest ITA national singles rankings and second regionally, owning a 11-3 dual match record with a 26-7 overall record so far this season. He has gone 10-4 at No. 1 singles, 3-0 at No. 2, and 2-0 at No. 3.

Pocasangre Kreling is ranked No. 16 in the ITA national singles rankings and No. 7 in the region. He has a 16–3 dual match record, all at the No. 1 position, and a 19–7 overall record so far this season.
Shah and Green are ranked No. 1 in the nation in doubles, with a 17–3 dual match record, all at the No. 1 position, and a 27–6 overall record so far this season.

DePauw junior Finley Buelte, (Rockford, IL/Rockford Christian) was named as the fourth alternate for the Division III singles tournament, while he and first-year Will Cramer (Zionsville, IN/Zionsville) were selected as the second alternate in doubles along with Pocasangre Kreling and sophomore Alejandro Gonzalez (Monterrey, Mexico/Citizens), who were tabbed the third doubles alternate.

The individual championships shall consist of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. The selection of teams and individuals for the championships is based on won-lost record, strength of schedule and eligibility and availability of student-athletes. The team championship will take place May 19-22, while the individual championships will be May 23-26, both at Biszantz Family Tennis Center, Claremont, California; hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps-Colleges.
