NCAC Athletes Close Out National T&F Champs With 14 All-American Honors 5/24/2025 6:00:00 PM Share: GENEVA, OH - Five North Coast Athletic Conference student-athletes competed in the final day of competition at the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the SPIRE Institute's Outdoor Track & Field facility. The NCAC was highlighted by five All-American performances on the final day. In the 400-meter dash finals, Wittenberg first-year Jack Kittle (Chagrin Falls, OH/Chagrin Falls) broke the tape in 47.12 to capture fifth place and first-team All-American honors. Denison senior Chris Slater (Hudson, OH/Hudson) also secured first-team All-American accolades in the hammer throw, picking up a fifth-place finish with a launch of 61.15 meters on his first throw. Wabash senior Will Neubauer (South Bend, IN/John Adams) finished seventh in the finals of the 800-meter run, clocking 1:51.26 to become a first-team All-American. Two triple jumpers achieved second-team All-American accolades on Saturday. Kenyon senior Paula Soric (Zadar, Croatia/Gimnazija Franje Petrica Zadar) captured ninth place with a personal best leap of 12.10 meters on her fourth attempt. Oberlin junior Namu Makatiani (Nairobi, Kenya/George School (PA)) set the school record on his first attempt, bounding 14.81 meters for a 10th-place finish. The junior missed qualifying for the final by just .01 meters. In total, NCAC student-athletes secured 14 All-American citations at the 2025 Division III Outdoor Championships. In addition to Saturday’s five honors, nine citations were earned on both Thursday and Friday. In the javelin, Ohio Wesleyan senior Trey Theobald (Archbold, OH/Archbold) and Denison senior Andrew D'Asaro (Downingtown, PA/The Hill School) collected the only first-team nods as Theobald reset his own school record with a distance of 65.90 meters to place fourth, while D'Asaro recorded a mark of 63.02 meters to earn eighth place. Earning second-team All-American honors were Wittenberg first-year Jack Kittle (Chagrin Falls, OH/Chagrin Falls), who placed 15th in the 200-meter dash prelims with a time of 21.58 seconds, DePauw senior Sophie Porter (Westfield, IN/Westfield), who finished 15th in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 35:54.88, Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Connor Smith (Marysville, OH/Marysville) cleared 2.00 meters to capture ninth place in the men’s high jump, and Oberlin senior Walter Moak (Charlottesville, VA/Western Albemarle) posted an 11th place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase final, crossing the line in 9:10.87. Three hurdlers also earned second-team All-American honors, with DePauw sophomore Liberty Scott (Galveston, IN/Lewis Cass) and Ohio Wesleyan first-year Katherine Dortmund (Westerville, OH/Columbus St. Francis DeSales) running 14.24 and 14.26 to place 11th and 14th respectively in the 100-meter hurdle prelims, while Denison senior Ari Skolnik (Glencoe, IL/New Trier Township) turned in a mark of 14.87 in the men’s 110-meter prelims to obtain 16th place. DePauw senior Katie Moore (Lawrenceville, IL/Lawrenceville) competed in the final three events of the women’s heptathlon, snatching 746 points in the 800-meter run (2:25.82), 584 points in the long jump (5.09m) and 466 points in the javelin throw (29.46m). Moore finished 21st in the heptathlon with 3,842 points. Wooster senior Daysia Hargrave (Orrville, OH/Orrville) also contested in the women’s 100-meter hurdle prelim, breaking the tape in 22.78 for a 21st-place finish. Moore currently sits in 21st place in the heptathlon with 2,046 points and will compete tomorrow in the final three events starting with the 110-meter hurdles at 12:00 p.m. Additionally, in the prelims of the 400-meter hurdles, Oberlin senior Cole Fuller (Chicago, IL/Latin School of Chicago) posted a time of 54.60 seconds to finish 18th, while Wabash junior Quinn Sholar (Indianapolis, IN/Warren Central) placed 20th in the men's discus, posting a mark 40.50 meters, while The 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships will continue Friday, May 23, at the SPIRE Institute's Outdoor Track & Field facility in Geneva, Ohio.
