Men’s Cross Country – Will Jackson, Denison
Denison first-year Will Jackson (Wayland, MA/Wayland) paced the Big Red at the Otterbein Invitational on Saturday, placing fourth overall with a time of 25:57.85 in the 8,000-meter race. The rookie finished as the top NCAC competitor in the field of 215 runners, leading Denison to a sixth-place team finish.
Women’s Cross Country – Lauren Acker, Wooster
Wooster first-year Lauren Acker (Atlanta, GA/Lakeside) led the Fighting Scots at the Otterbein Invitational on Saturday, finishing 11th out of 139 runners in the 6,000-meter race. Acker was the top NCAC finisher with a time of 23:20.70, missing a top-10 spot by less than a second.
Field Hockey – Joscelynn Anglin, Washington & Jefferson
Washington & Jefferson senior forward Joscelynn Anglin (Biglerville, PA/Biglerville) propelled the Presidents to a 2-1 week, with wins over Allegheny (1-0 OT) and Eastern Mennonite (2-0) and a close 2-1 loss to Sweet Briar. Anglin, who was assisted by senior defender Lindsey Blount (Lockport, NY/Starpoint), scored the overtime game-winner against the Gators and against the Royals, the senior recorded an unassisted game-winning goal in the second quarter.
Football (Offense) – Robby Ballentine, DePauw
DePauw senior wide receiver Robby Ballentine (Crown Point, IN/Andrean) helped guide the Tigers to a 35-14 win over Centre on Saturday. He caught 15 passes for 244 yards and recorded two touchdowns, opening the scoring at 10:41 in the first quarter and adding another TD at 3:29 in the third to extend DePauw’s lead to 35-8. Ballentine’s 244 receiving yards broke the program’s 29-year-old record previously held by Jamie Cunha (236), and his 15 receptions tied for the second-most in program history.
Football (Defense) – Paul Ehenger, Wooster
Wooster senior defensive tackle Paul Ehenger (Salem, OR/South Salem) led the Fighting Scots’ defense in a 28-14 win over St. Vincent on Saturday. Ehenger recorded four tackles, including two sacks for a loss of 11 yards, and forced a fumble to help secure the victory.
Men’s Golf – Austin Malley, John Carroll
John Carroll junior Austin Malley (Venetia, PA/Peters Township) guided the Blue Streaks to a team victory at the Mount Union Fall Invitational, held at the par-72, 6,694-yard Tannenhauf Golf Course. The junior posted rounds of 71 and 72 for a 143 (-1) to finish third overall out of 77 golfers with five birdies, helping JCU claim first out of eight teams.
Women’s Golf – Becky Williams, DePauw
DePauw senior Becky Williams (Zionsville, IN/University High School of Indiana) captured first place at the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic, held at the par-72, 5,823-yard Ironwood Golf Course. Williams shot a five-under 139 (72-67) and led the tournament with 15 birdies, including nine over the final 13 holes. The win marked the seniors second of the season and her fifth-straight regular-season victory to extend her DePauw career record to 11 tournament wins.
Men’s Soccer – Grant Blake, Kenyon
Kenyon first-year defender Grant Blake (Canton, OH/Jackson) guided the Owls to back-to-back 1-0 road victories over Franciscan and Hanover last week. With a helper from classmate David Do (Florence, KY/Covington Catholic), Blake scored the first game-winning goal of his collegiate career on the road against the Barons and then added an assist in the shutout over the Panthers. Also anchoring the back line, the rookie helped the defense post consecutive clean sheets.
Women’s Soccer – Molly Button, Oberlin
Oberlin first-year midfielder Molly Button (Red Hook, NY/Red Hook Senior) led the Yeowomen to two wins last week, tallying seven points and placing all seven of her shots on goal. In a 3-1 victory over Muskingum, she contributed to every score, netting the opener, assisting the second, and scoring the final goal. Button capped the week with another goal in a 4-0 shutout of Olivet.
Volleyball – Alana Bartulovic, Wittenberg
Wittenberg senior outside hitter Alana Bartulovic (Cleveland, OH/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) helped the Tigers go 3-0 on the week, including a five-set win over No. 1 Juniata that ended the Eagles’ 103-match winning streak. Bartulovic recorded two kills and one block off the bench in a 3-1 win over Mount Saint Joseph on Tuesday, then tied for the match lead with 15 kills, three blocks, and one dig in the win over Juniata on Friday. She finished the week with nine kills, five digs, and four blocks in a sweep over Baldwin Wallace, hitting .364 in the match. On the week, Bartulovic compiled 26 kills with a .243 hitting percentage to go along with six digs and eight blocks.
Milestones & Records (Sept. 8-14)
Denison, Women’s Cross Country - Sophomore Floralysse Biteau (Oakwood, OH/Oakwood) set a personal best at the Otterbein Invitational on Saturday, finishing 14th overall with a time of 23:31.32, which was 33 seconds faster than her fastest time in a 6,000-meter race.
Denison, Women’s Golf – Sophomore Siena Maschke (Cleveland, OH/Laurel School) recorded her best two-day tournament total with rounds of 74-72 at the Transylvania Fall Kickoff Classic, finishing tied for second in the 67-player field at the 5,700-yard University Club of Kentucky. She played the par-5’s at four under and was one under on her final nine holes as the Big Red won the 12-team event and set a new two-day program scoring record (595).
Ohio Wesleyan, Volleyball – Junior outside hitter Natalie Dieball (Cincinnati, OH/Lakota East) was named to the all-tournament team at the 2025 Wittenberg Volleyball Fall Classic.
Wooster, Men’s Golf – Senior Parth Kirloskar (Pune, India/Vidya Valley School) recorded a career-best finish by tying for third to lead the Fighting Scots to the team title at the Irish Hills Invitational. Kirloskar shot a 152 (+8) at the par-72, 6,619-yard Tecumseh Golf Club.
Wooster, Football – Senior wide receiver Jordan Lewis (Akron, OH/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) recorded a career-high 150 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the Fighting Scots’ 28-14 win over St. Vincent, highlighted by a 79-yard score in the fourth quarter to give Wooster a two-touchdown lead … Head Coach Austin Holter earned his first career win as a college head coach with the team’s victory over the Bearcats.
Wittenberg, Volleyball – Sophomore setter Mary Sulfridge (South Charleston, OH/Southeastern) and senior libero Ally White (Harrison, OH/Harrison) were named to the all-tournament team at the 2025 Wittenberg Volleyball Fall Classic.
