CLEVELAND, OH - Five North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) institutions appeared in the fall update of the 2025-26 Division III LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings, with John Carroll leading the league at 31st overall among 179 institutions receiving points.
The LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup is a joint program of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today, awarding points based on each institution’s finish in NCAA Championships across the fall, winter, and spring seasons.
John Carroll accumulated 172.5 points overall, highlighted by 83 points in football after the Blue Streaks advanced to the NCAA semifinals. In cross country, the Blue Streaks contributed 32.5 points from the women’s program and 32.0 points from the men’s program for their appearances at the national championships. Women’s soccer also earned 25 points for receiving the league’s automatic qualifying bid to the national stage.
DePauw is in a three-way tie for 57th with 89.0 points. The Tigers earned 64 points in football after advancing to the third round of the NCAA Tournament, while the men’s soccer program added 25 points with an appearance on the national stage.
Denison is part of a 12-way tie for 67th with 75.0 points. The men’s soccer program accounted for 50 points after reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament, while field hockey added 25 points with an at-large bid to the national tournament.
Wittenberg sits in a 25-way tie for 98th with 50.0 points after the volleyball program advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Sitting in a five-way tie for 124th is Ohio Wesleyan. The Battling Bishops accumulated 32.5 points thanks to the women’s cross country program’s national championship appearance.
Nationally, Tufts currently leads all Division III schools with 485.0 points, while Johns Hopkins is in second with 454.5 points, and Washington University in St. Louis is in third with 358.5 points.
