Brinnon Named NCAC Athletic Communications Coordinator

CLEVELAND, OH - Evan Brinnon has been named Athletic Communications Coordinator of the North Coast Athletic Conference, announced today, Monday, October 19, by NCAC Executive Director Keri Alexander Luchowski.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Evan back to the NCAC,” said Alexander Luchowski. “His experience at Kenyon, combined with his background at the Division II level, gives him a strong understanding of how we can best serve our members and our community. He knows the NCAC, he is passionate about telling the stories of student-athletes, and he will bring a great deal of care and enthusiasm to his work with us.”

Brinnon comes to the NCAC with experience in athletics communications at Kenyon College, where he was hired as Assistant Director of Athletics Communications in the summer of 2022. While at Kenyon, he was responsible for a large student-worker team through event-day management, training (one-on-one, team-based), scheduling, and other functions. He managed Kenyon’s online presence, including the website, social media, and other digital interactions. He produced press releases, game stories and other written materials for the department as well as managing statistics for 23 sports while also maintaining in-depth historical archives for each program. Evan also served as broadcaster of Kenyon athletic events as well as coordinating live video production for home athletic competitions and events. Last fall, Brinnon furthered his NCAA Division III experience working with the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) in a role similar to his new position with the NCAC.

Prior to Kenyon, Brinnon served as a sports communication graduate assistant at Upper Iowa University, an NCAA Division II institution in Fayette, Iowa. During the two-year program, he was the primary contact for numerous sports and worked with each of UIU’s 22 varsity programs. He was responsible for composing press releases, authoring pre- and post-game coverage, maintaining the athletics website and social media pages, recording statistics, broadcasting and commentating live competitions, capturing photos and video, and assisting with additional athletics department operations. Brinnon earned a master’s degree in sports administration from Upper Iowa in July 2022.

“I am honored and excited to be joining the North Coast Athletic Conference, and I am grateful to Keri Alexander Luchowski and Shannon O’Brien for the opportunity,” said Brinnon. “I have thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with the NCAC during my time at Kenyon College, and I look forward to contributing to a conference with a rich history of athletic and academic excellence and an exciting future.”

At the NCAC, Brinnon will be responsible for the communications efforts of the conference, including the conference website, social media outlets, weekly honors, as well as the more traditional sports information duties such as statistics and record keeping.

Founded in 1983, the North Coast Athletic Conference consists of nine academically selective colleges and universities - Denison University, DePauw University, John Carroll University, Kenyon College, Oberlin College, Ohio Wesleyan University, Wabash College, Wittenberg University, and the College of Wooster, along with affiliate members Allegheny College, Transylvania University, Washington & Jefferson College (field hockey) and Washington University in St. Louis (football).
