NCAC’s Dani Johnson Accepts Position with NCAA 10/15/2026 1:00:00 PM Share: CLEVELAND, OH - North Coast Athletic Conference Director of Athletic Communications Dani Johnson has accepted the position of Assistant Coordinator of Championships with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Johnson joined the NCAC in August 2023 and has overseen the conference’s communications efforts for the past three years, managing the website, social media platforms, and weekly honors, along with traditional sports information duties such as statistics and record-keeping. She supported the media efforts of the Opendorse Bowl Series, as well as the operations and sponsorship committees over the past two years, and also served as the Communications Director for three NCAA Division III National Baseball Championships and one NCAA Div. III Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship. Dani also created and led the NCAC Social Media Corps, an internship group for conference students that expanded the conference’s social media presence and provided a professional development opportunity for students across the conference. "I’m thrilled for this tremendous opportunity for Dani," said NCAC Executive Director Keri Alexander Luchowski. "During her time with us, she raised the bar for how the North Coast tells the stories of our student-athletes, especially in photography, graphics and social media. It is a bittersweet time as we will miss having her as a day-to-day member of the NCAC family, but I look forward to seeing all that she will accomplish at the NCAA. Countless student-athletes and teams will benefit from her creativity, and strong work ethic." Prior to the NCAC, Johnson worked with the Iowa Swarm Collective, where she was the lead intern for the launch of the NIL collective, and within the University of Iowa athletics department as an athletic facilities graduate intern, assisting with events including the Big Ten Gymnastics Championship and the first and second rounds of the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament. She also interned with the Kansas City Chiefs training camp, Iowa Hawkeye wrestling camps and the American Rivers Conference commissioner’s office. Johnson is a 2021 graduate of Wartburg College, where she competed in volleyball and track and field. “This is a bittersweet moment for me,' said Johnson. "The NCAC gave me the chance to learn and grow alongside dedicated athletic communications professionals and administrators, celebrate incredible student-athletes and build something special with the Social Media Corps. As a former Division III student-athlete, helping create opportunities for student-athletes like others did for me has been incredibly rewarding. I’m grateful to Keri, Shannon and everyone across the conference who made these three years so meaningful. I can’t wait for this next chapter with the NCAA, and I’ll be cheering for the North Coast every step of the way.” Founded in 1983, the North Coast Athletic Conference consists of nine academically selective colleges and universities - Denison University, DePauw University, John Carroll University, Kenyon College, Oberlin College, Ohio Wesleyan University, Wabash College, Wittenberg University, and the College of Wooster, along with affiliate members Allegheny College, Transylvania University, Washington & Jefferson College (field hockey) and Washington University in St. Louis (football). The NCAC is dedicated to fostering a complementary relationship between intercollegiate athletics and the pursuit of academic excellence and sponsors 23 championship sports, 11 for men and 12 for women.
