Wabash Men, John Carroll Women Lead NCAC Indoor T&F After Day 1 2/27/2026 8:30:00 PM Share: SPRINGFIELD, OH -- The Wabash men and the John Carroll women lead the 2026 NCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships after the first day of competition at the Steemer in Springfield, Ohio. The Little Giants accumulated 46 total points, while the Blue Streaks sit in first with 52 points. Wittenberg sits in second with 43 points in the men's standings, followed by DePauw (29), John Carroll (27), Kenyon and Oberlin (16), Ohio Wesleyan (9), Denison (8) and Wooster (1). On the women’s side, DePauw is second after day one with 50 points, followed by Wittenberg (46), Ohio Wesleyan (41), Denison (35), Kenyon (5), Oberlin (4) and Wooster (1). The 2026 meet opened with five field events with Wittenberg first-year Antonio Weaver (Columbus, OH/Independence) claiming the men’s long jump victory with a distance of 7.04 meters (23’01.25”), while John Carroll sophomore Dakota Houston (Beachwood, OH/Beachwood) claimed the 2026 women’s long jump title in record-setting fashion, posting a new NCAC mark with a leap of 5.86 meters (19’02.75”). Ohio Wesleyan junior Addie Beck (Wadsworth, OH/Wadsworth) won the women’s pole vault with a height of 3.55 meters (11’07.75”). The men’s weight throw title was captured by Wabash senior Quinn Sholar (Indianapolis, IN/Warren Central) as he reset the NCAC record with a heave of 18.69 meters (61’04.00”), while the women’s title went to Denison junior Mariel Drost (North Royalton, OH/Saint Joseph Academy) with a toss of 15.55 meters (51’0.25”). On the track, John Carroll senior Abby Schroff (Lewis Center, OH/Olentangy Orange) claimed the women’s 5,000-meter run title in a time of 17:34.10, while Wittenberg junior Lukas Rieben (Clayton, OH/Northmont) won the men’s 5,000 in 14:56.28. To finish out the night, the DePauw women won the distance medley relay (12:18.96), while Wabash captured the men’s crown in the DMR (10:08.73). The 2026 NCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships will continue tomorrow, Saturday, February 28, with 25 events. The final day will start at 10:00 a.m. with the women’s high jump and the men’s triple jump, pole vault and shot put, followed by the men's high jump and women's triple jump at 12:00 p.m. and the women’s shot put at 12:30 p.m. Track events will start at 2:30 p.m. with the women’s 4x200-meter relay.
