Granville, OH - Denison Athletics welcomes Allison Manwell-Huppert as the Big Red's Assistant AD for Administration and Special Projects. Manwell-Huppert will join the Denison Athletics staff in April, after four years at Wabash College, a fellow member of the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC).
"Allison is a student-centered administrator who brings a versatile skill set to Big Red Athletics, including a penchant for building strong relationships on campus," said Matt Tanney, Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics and Associate Professor of Physical Education.
Prior to her arrival at Denison, Manwell-Huppert spent the last four years with the Little Giants, first as the assistant athletics director of internal operations and, in 2024, was elevated to Wabash's associate athletics director of internal operations and senior woman administrator. As the associate AD, she was the direct NCAA DIII compliance contact, leading compliance education for the Little Giants' 12 varsity sports teams. She served as the sport administrator for men's golf, volleyball, and tennis. She routinely represented the athletic department across campus, giving updates as a special guest in board of trustees committee meetings or presenting at events such as Wabash's "Big Bash" reunion weekend.
"I'm incredibly excited to join Denison Athletics and contribute to a department with such a strong tradition of excellence," stated Manwell-Huppert. "I'm grateful for the opportunity to be part of Denison's commitment to both competitive success and the holistic development of student-athletes and to work alongside such a talented staff. Go Big Red!"
In January 2025, she was selected as a National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators (NADIIIA) "Emerging Athletic Administrator Award" at the NCAA Convention. Within the last year, she's been selected for the NCAA's Foundations of Fundraising program, the NCAA's Senior Woman Administrator Program, and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Senior Administrators Mentoring Institute.
Her extensive background centered around the student athlete experience stretches beyond college athletics. Since 2023, Manwell-Huppert has been the Crawfordsville High School volleyball coach and has coached volleyball in school and club settings since 2013.
Tanney goes on to say that, "Manwell-Huppert's alignment with our core philosophy of a holistic student-athlete experience enables an additional level of support and connectivity to countless projects and initiatives, both present and future. I'm excited to welcome Allison and her husband, Mitch, to the Denison community later this spring."
Manwell-Huppert graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and, in 2018, earned a master's degree in sports management from Ball State University.
