20 NCAC Athletes Selected for NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships are set to take place this weekend, Friday-Saturday, March 13-14 at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Alabama, hosted by the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) and the City of Birmingham. Twenty North Coast Athletic Conference student-athletes from six different schools will represent the conference this weekend.
 
On the men's side, the league will be represented by four athletes in the 400-meter dash including Wittenberg senior Cameron Elliott (Springfield, OH/Springfield) and sophomore Jack Kittle (Chagrin Falls, OH/Chagrin Falls), Wabash first-year Brock DeBello (North Salem, IN/Tri West) and John Carroll graduate student Tyler Gast (Olmsted Township, OH/Olmsted Falls). Elliott and Kittle own the second- and third-fastest times at 47.07 and 47.08, while DeBello is sixth (47.47) and Gast is 11th (47.57). The 400-meter dash prelims are scheduled for Friday at 3:25 p.m. John Carroll senior Basheer Alramahi (Westlake, OH/Westlake) has the seventh quickest 800-meter run time at 1:50.72 and will compete in the prelims on Friday at 4:00 p.m., while the Blue Streaks 4x400 relay squad of Gast, junior Tony Tirado (Chicago, IL/St. Ignatius College Prep), senior Dustin Horner (Stow, OH/ Stow) and Alramahi have the seventh-best time at 3:12.91 which will see the prelims contested at 5:50 p.m. on Friday. DePauw sophomore Jacob Sandlin (San Pierre, IN/Kankakee Valley) owns the No. 9 seed in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.05 seconds, while Wittenberg sophomore Kory Davis (Brookville, OH/Brookville) is tied for 13th (8.09) and Ohio Wesleyan junior Dylan Harper (Marysville, OH/Marysville) is tied for 15th (8.10) in the event. The 60-meter hurdle prelims are scheduled for 1:45 p.m. on Friday. Oberlin senior Namu Makatiani (Nairobi, Kenya/George School (PA)) is ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 14.91 meters, while Wabash senior Sly Williams (Indianapolis, IN/Bishop Chatard) is 14th with a leap of 14.72. Both athletes are set to compete in the triple jump at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Wabash senior Quinn Sholar (Indianapolis, IN/Warren Central) earned a ticket to the national championship after posting the 10th-best shot put mark at 17.47 meters and the No. 19th-furthest distance in the weight throw at 18.69 meters. Scholar is set to compete on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the weight throw and at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday in the shot put. Ohio Wesleyan junior Connor Smith (Marysville, OH/Marysville) is tied for 10th in the high jump after clearing the bar at 2.06 meters and will compete on Saturday at 3:45 p.m. John Carroll sophomore Sam Su (Akron, OH/Woodridge), who holds the No. 11 seed in the one mile run at 4:07.05, will compete in the prelims at 2:50 p.m. on Friday.
 
Highlighting the list of women's entries competing in Birmingham is John Carroll sophomore Dakota Houston (Beachwood, OH/Beachwood), who has posted three top-20 marks. She owns the fourth-fastest 60-meter dash at 7.54, is tied for fourth in the 200-meter dash at 24.21 and has the eighth-best long jump at 5.86 meters. DePauw junior Shelby Stall (Lindenhurst, IL/Lakes) will join Houston in the 200-meter race with the ninth-best time at 24.47 and will also race in the 400-meter dash with the 12th-quickest time at 55.86. The prelims of all four events will be completed on Friday with the 60-meter dash at 2:00 p.m., the 400 at 3:05 p.m., the long jump at 3:30 p.m. and the 200 at 4:15 p.m. In the 60-meter hurdles, DePauw junior Liberty Scott (Galveston, IN/Lewis Cass) and Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Katherine Dortmund (Westerville, OH/Columbus St. Francis DeSales) are tied for the sixth-quickest time at 8.62 and will race in the prelims on Friday at 1:30 p.m. John Carroll junior Alyssa Vis (Perry, OH/Perry) will compete in the one mile run prelims at 2:35 p.m. on Friday, entering the race with the 20th-best time at 4:53.19.
