Nine Events Completed on Day 1 of Outdoor T&F Combined Events

GRANVILLE, OH - The 2026 NCAC Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Combined Events Championships kicked off on Saturday at Denison University at the Deeds Field-Piper Stadium with four heptathlon and five decathlon events being contested.
 
To start Saturday's action in the heptathlon, Wittenberg sophomore Cayla Eaton (North Lewisburg, OH/Triad) earned the win in the 100-meter hurdles after crossing the line in 15.21 seconds. Then in the field events, Eaton cleared 1.57 meters in the high jump to collect her second victory on the day, while Wooster junior Kylie Parsons (Mount Vernon, OH/Mount Vernon) had the best heave in the shot put with a toss of 9.07 meters. Ohio Wesleyan first-year Kateri Hoy (Radnor, OH/Buckeye Valley) ended the day with a win in the 200-meter dash, crossing the line in 27.01 seconds.
 
In the men's decathlon, Ohio Wesleyan junior Michael Strange (High Bridge, NJ/Voorhees) recorded a victory in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.12 seconds. Wittenberg junior Nicolas Farfoglia (Manchester, MD/Manchester Valley) collected the men’s long jump victory with a leap of 6.41 meters, while DePauw sophomore Tucker Risley (Bruceville, IN/South Knox) was a double winner on the day, recording a heave of 12.83 meters in the shot put and a height of 1.88 meters in the high jump to earn first in both events. Kenyon senior Josh Greville (Kane, PA/Kane Area) paced the field in the 400-meter dash in a time of 49.86 seconds to earn the final victory of the day.
 
The remaining eight events, three heptathlon and five decathlon, will take place on Sunday beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Denison. The 2026 NCAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held Friday-Saturday, May 1-2, at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. Total team points from the combined events will be factored into next weekend's results toward the final team standings.
