Five NCAC Men's Tennis Athletes Qualify for NCAA Individual Tourney

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- The NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Committee has selected the individuals who will compete in the singles and doubles competition of the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships. Among the selections were five North Coast Athletic Conference student-athletes including Denison seniors Ethan Green (Salt Lake City, UT/Skyline) and Kael Shah (Nairobi, Kenyon/ES American School Barcelona (Spain)) and Kenyon  junior Alejandro Gonzalez (Monterrey, Mexico/Citizens) and first-year Maximo Llamas Castellanos (Guadalupe, Mexico/Prepa Tec Valle Alto), who were invited to participate in the Singles Championship, while Green and Shah and Llamas Castellanos and sophomore Juozas Cioladis (Kildare, Ireland/McCallie School) were invited to the Doubles Championship.

Green is ranked No. 14 in the latest ITA national singles rankings and third regionally, owning a 11-5 dual record. He has gone 7-2 at No. 1 singles and 4-3 at No. 2.
Shah holds the No. 5 spot in the ITA national singles rankings and is ranked first in the region, with a 17-3 dual match record. His singles record includes 11-2 at No. 1 and 6-1 at No. 2.

Shah and Green are ranked No. 4 in the national doubles rankings and No. 1 in the Central rankings, with a 12-4 dual match record, all at the No. 1 position.

Gonzalez is ranked No. 45 in the ITA national singles rankings and No. 16 in the region. He has a 10-5 dual match record, going 5-3 at No. 1 and 5-2 at No. 2.

Llamas Castellanos is currently ranked No. 33 in the ITA national singles rankings and 13th in the regional rankings, holding a 20-1 dual match record. He has recorded an 8-0 mark at No. 1, 9-1 at No. 2, and 3-0 at No. 3.

Cioladis and Llamas Castellanos are ranked No. 20 in the national doubles rankings and 5th in the region, with a 17-3 dual match record after going 13-3 at No. 1 and 4-0 at No. 2.

The individual championships shall consist of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. The selection of teams and individuals for the championships is based on won-lost record, strength of schedule and eligibility and availability of student-athletes. The team championship will take place May 19-22, while the individual championships will be May 23-26, both at Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee; hosted by University of the South and Chattanooga, TN.
