This is the sixth time that the Big Red leadership has earned an IWLCA Regional Coaching Staff of the Year honor since 2016. Head coach Amanda Daniels, who just completed her 13th season at the helm, was joined on the sidelines by assistant coaches Maddie Morrell, Tori Vernau and Katherine Yarusso. Together, the quartet guided the Big Red to an impressive 19-2 overall record this past spring, including a perfect 7-0 mark in NCAC play. Denison secured its league-leading 25th NCAC title, along with its fourth-consecutive and 19th overall NCAC Tournament title. The Big Red earned the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament to make their 27th appearance and eighth-consecutive advancement into the third round. Eight Denison players garnered All-NCAC recognition this season, including sweeps of the Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and Coaching Staff of the Year awards. Over her 13-year tenure and 12 competitive seasons (2020 was shortened due to COVID-19), Daniels has led Denison to eight NCAC titles, 10 conference tournament championships, 12-consecutive NCAA Tournament bids, and a national semifinal appearance (2021). While at Denison, Daniels has amassed an overall record of 172-65 (.738 pct) while boasting a 79-6 (.929 pct.) in conference play. This year, the veteran also tallied her 200th career win as a collegiate head coach.
