Frushour named Kenyon’s Associate Director of Athletics

GAMBIER, OH - Jason Imperati, Kenyon College’s Director of Athletics, Fitness and Recreation announced today that Heather Frushour was hired as the department’s Associate Director of Athletics for Administration and Operations.
 
“We are thrilled to welcome Heather to Kenyon,” Imperati said. “Throughout the search process, what stood out was the depth of experience and perspective she brings and how valuable that will be as we continue to move Kenyon athletics forward. Heather understands what it takes to support coaches, serve student-athletes, and help an athletics department operate at a high level. She will be an incredible resource for our department, and I am excited about the impact she will have here.”
 
Frushour comes to Kenyon after working since March of 2025 as a financial analyst and athletics administrator at the University of Arizona. For the previous four years, Frushour was also at Arizona, serving as the director of operations for the Wildcats cross country and track and field programs.
 
Throughout her time at Arizona, Frushour gained experience in compliance, operations, budgeting, project management, and leadership. As director of operations, she supervised a staff of six and increased program revenue by 150 percent. 
 
Prior to Arizona, Frushour was a high school cross country and track and field coach for six seasons and was named the Positive Coaching Alliance’s Arizona Coach of the Year in 2020. She has also worked in the business operations consulting and digital communications sectors for over 10 years.
 
Frushour attended Brigham Young University and earned her bachelor’s degree in business management. During her work in athletics at Arizona, she earned a master’s degree in international security studies.
 
Frushour will become Kenyon’s first associate athletics director since Justin Newell, who departed in January of 2024 to become vice president and director of athletics at Knox College.
 
“I am excited to be a part of the long-standing tradition of excellence that has defined Kenyon athletics for decades,” Frushour said. “I want to continue to honor that tradition by bringing my experience and positive outlook to help lift all of our teams, athletes, coaches and staff to reach their potential. I am eager to meet them all, and our fans and alumni, too. I can’t wait to get to work!”
 
As she prepares for the cross-country transition, Frushour’s first day at Kenyon is slated for November 6.
