Oberlin junior Alyson Jefferson led the Yeowomen to a pair of wins to open the 2022-23 season. The junior guard dropped in 17 points to go along with five assists and three boards in a win at Alma, before following that performance with a career-high 21 points, five rebounds and three assists in a triumph at Adrian. For the week, Jefferson was 10-of-18 from the floor and was a perfect 17-of-17 at the free throw line, averaging 19 points, four rebounds, and four assists.

Jade Simpson, Wittenberg

Wittenberg junior Jade Simpson helped the Tigers to a 2-1 week, including wins over Heidelberg and Hanover. Simpson averaged 12 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals last week, including a 13-point, 12-rebound effort against Hanover, her second double-double of the year.

Maddie Goodman, Denison

Denison sophomore Maddie Goodman helped guide the Big Red to a 2-1 week with wins over Franciscan and Maryville (TN) last week. After averaging 9.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists across a pair of games at the Pat Deacon Classic, Goodman was named to the All-Tournament Team. The sophomore finished the week averaging 10.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 blocked shots per game.

Brooke Hickman, Hiram
(Mentor, OH/Mentor)

Hiram sophomore Brooke Hickman recorded a double-double in each of the Terriers' three victories last week over Thiel, Hilbert and Mount Aloysius. Notably, the sophomore logged 14 or more rebounds in each game and averaged 18.5 points, 14.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots per game.

Claudia Cooke, Kenyon
(Chesterfield, MO/Parkway Central)

Kenyon junior Claudia Cooke averaged 11 points, 16.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocks, and 3.0 assists as the Owls went 1-1 on the week. In a 68-59 win over Penn State Shenango, Cooke helped Kenyon reach season-highs in points (68), rebounds (48), assists (15), and blocked shots (8) on Tuesday as she produced seven points, 11 boards, a season-high four blocks, and three assists. She then followed that performance with a 15-point, 22-rebound effort against Penn State Behrend while adding a trio of blocks and assists. The 22 rebounds were a career-high, an NCAC season-high, and the third-highest total in program history.

Wittenberg junior Jade Simpson tallied her third double-double of the season against Muskingum on Tuesday as the Tigers improved to 5-3 overall. The junior pulled-down a game-high 15 rebounds to go along with 20 points, three blocked shots, two assists and one steal.

Wittenberg sophomore Jazmyn Gaines-Burns helped the Tigers to three victories over winter break. The sophomore's top performance came in a 71-67 victory over Miami-Hamilton in which she recorded 19 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Across the trio of games, Gaines-Burns averaged 11.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.

Wittenberg sophomore guard Taryn Cash averaged 13.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 2.0 assists and 1.0 block as the Tigers captured two conference wins last week. Cash netted 10 points, gathered six rebounds, earned three steals and posted a block and an assist in a 62-55 win over Denison on Wednesday. Then on Saturday, the sophomore recorded 16 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in a 64-53 win over DePauw. The 11-point victory snapped DePauw's 39-game NCAC regular season win streak with the Tigers' last in-season loss coming on Jan. 23, 2019, when they also lost at Wittenberg.

Kenyon junior Claudia Cooke averaged 15.0 points and 7.6 rebounds while shooting 61 percent (20-of-33) from the field to help the Owls record a 2-1 week. In a 65-44 win over Maine-Fort Kent, the center netted 13 points, going 6-of-8 from the floor (.750), gathered a game-high 12 rebounds and earned one steal. Two days later, she recorded a season-high 24 points which included the game-winning bucket with three seconds remaining in a 67-65 win over Wooster to hand the Owls their first NCAC win of the season. The junior also grabbed nine boards, posted two blocks, and earned one assist and one steal in the two-point victory. On Saturday at DePauw, Cooke shot 67 percent (4-of-6) from the floor and tallied eight points and two rebounds.

DePauw sophomore guard Moira McGinley averaged 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in a pair of NCAC wins this past week. McGinley netted 11 points, grabbed four rebounds, and dished three assists in a win at home against Oberlin on Wednesday. Then on Saturday in a 73-63 road-win over Ohio Wesleyan, the sophomore posted a team-high 16 points, to go along with five rebounds and two assists while shooting 56 percent (5-of-9) from the field.

Denison sophomore Abigail Westmeyer averaged 19 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 52 percent (13-of-25) from the field and 92 percent (12-for-13) from the free throw line in a 1-1 week for the Big Red. In a win over Kenyon on Saturday, Westmeyer posted 16 points, nine rebounds, and three assists. Earlier in the week, the sophomore netted a career-high 22 points to go along with eight rebounds and one assist in a tough loss at Oberlin on Wednesday.

Hiram sophomore Brooke Hickman averaged 16.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in a 1-1 week for the Terriers. In a 62-59 victory over Denison, Hickman recorded her tenth double-double of the season with a 16-point, 10-rebound performance, to go along with two blocks and one steal. On Saturday, the center netted 16 points, gathered seven rebounds, earned two blocks and dished one assist in a loss to DePauw.

DePauw senior guard Mya Shannon averaged 19.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 steals, while shooting 61 percent (14-of-23) from the floor in a 2-0 week for the Tigers. In 23 minutes of action in a win over Denison, Shannon recorded six points, three rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block. Then on Saturday, the senior netted a career-high 32 points on 11-of-18 shooting (61 percent) in an overtime victory against Oberlin; 21 of those points came in the second half and the extra period. Shannon also added eight rebounds, two assists, one steal and matched her career-high with three blocks in the win over the Yeowomen.

Wittenberg sophomore Jazmyn Gaines-Burns averaged 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 1.5 assists in a 2-0 week to end the regular season. In a win over Hiram on Wednesday, Gaines-Burns recorded 13 points, four rebounds, four steals and two assists. The sophomore then netted 18 points, gathered five rebounds, earned three steals and dished one assist in a win over Oberlin on Saturday to earn a share of the program's first NCAC championship since 2010. The Tigers enter the NCAC Tournament as the no. 1 seed.
