August 2020 - The Hiram College Board of Trustees announced the appointment of David P. Haney, Ph.D., as interim president, effective September 1, 2020 ... Kenyon College President Dr. Sean Decatur was named the president of the North Coast Athletic Conference and Denison University President Dr. Adam Weinberg was selected to serve as the vice president for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 academic years.
September 2020 - Oberlin College assistant women's basketball coach Maureen Hirt was recognized as a Women's Sport Foundation (WSF) VanDerveer Fellow for 2020-21.
October 2020 – The NCAC hosted a Virtual 5K which was presented by the conference’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. The socially distant “6 Feet Apart, 5K Together” was held between Oct. 4-10 in conjunction with Mental Illness Awareness Week and had over 500 participants … The NCAC, in partnership with the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission (GCSC), was awarded four future NCAA Championships, beginning in 2024 with the Division III Baseball Championships at Classic Park, in Eastlake, Ohio. The conference will also host the 2025 and 2026 baseball championships at Classic Park, as well as the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at SPIRE Institute, in Geneva, Ohio … North Coast Athletic Conference athletic directors designated November 3 as a day off from athletic activity to support students in their ability to vote on Election Day and to be involved in the democratic process ... The NCAC Presidents’ Council unanimously decided, though with great reluctance, to cancel conference play, including conference championships, for the winter season ... November 2020 - Kenyon College and NCAC President, Dr. Sean Decatur was appointed to the NCAA Division III Presidents Council, the seventh NCAC President to serve on the national council … Oberlin College Head Volleyball Coach Erica Rau was elected to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Board of Directors … The NCAC and the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) collaborated to host the Preparing for a Career in Sports Workshop where more than 50 students from the PAC and NCAC participated in the daylong virtual workshop, which was developed in response to the ongoing initiatives of the NCAA’s Office of Inclusion and the Division III Diversity and Inclusion working group. Participants engaged in programming designed to help with charting their career paths while providing opportunities to learn from peers as well as key decision-makers at the campus, conference and national levels of college athletics ... Kate Costanzo, head women's basketball coach and senior woman administrator at Allegheny, and Timothy Bussey, assistant director for the office of diversity, equity and inclusion at Kenyon, were nominated for the inaugural NCAA Division III LGBTQ Administrator/Coach/Staff of the Year Award ... DePauw women's lacrosse head coach Anne Moelk was among six individuals appointed to the World Lacrosse's newly-formed Women in Sport Commission.
March 2021 - The NCAC hosted a virtual challenge for conference swimming and diving teams along with a virtual competition for any NCAA Division III team that wanted to "compete" this spring. Eighteen teams "competed" in the virtual meet and entered their results from time trials or dual and larger competitions with multiple Division III teams that were held between March 1 and April 25.
May 2021 – Denison won its first men's golf title with a 36-hole score of 582 (279-303), which broke Wittenberg's 10-year streak of NCAC Men's Golf Championship titles. The Big Red women also captured their first NCAC women's golf title in program history with a 36-hole score of 658 (308-350) ... The Ohio Lacrosse Hall of Fame announced its class of 2021 and the NCAC was represented by two longtime coaches in former Ohio Wesleyan men’s lacrosse head coach Jay Martin and current Wooster women’s lacrosse head coach Elizabeth Ford. Former Ohio Wesleyan student-athletes Dave Maguire '98, and Darren McGurn '98, along with Oberlin women’s lacrosse head coach, Kim Russell, were also honored as part of the 2020 class of inductees ... The Denison men shot a final round score of 308 (+24) at the 2021 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships at the Oglebay Resort, in Wheeling, West Virginia, and finished the tournament in seventh place, which was the best finish at nationals in program history, with a total score of 1188 (305-285-290-308). Denison junior Marc Mitchell (Atlanta, GA/Pace Academy) finished as the top Big Red scorer on the leaderboard as he tied for 15th place after shooting a 72-hole score of 296 (72-71-71-82) ... At the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Wittenberg senior Alexis Gray (Washington Court House, OH/ Washington Court House) finished in a time of 2:10.27 in the 800-meter finals which placed her third overall to earn all-America honors, while DePauw junior Erin Pasch (Indianapolis, IN/Indianapolis Lutheran) competed in the heptathlon and earned all-America honors with a sixth-place finish with 4,796 points.
