Kenyon senior Declan Curry (Barrington, RI/Barrington) extended the Lords lead to 4-2 at the 4:30 mark, before Denison junior Will Kenney (Hingham, MA/Hingham) would answer back less than a minute later thanks to an assist from classmate Gavin Pappas (Garden City, NY/Garden City), making it a one-goal game, 4-3. Junior Ethan Tyack (Dublin, OH/Dublin Coffman) would then tie the game for the Big Red with 1:27 remaining, while Bolea would feed junior Jack Giuffre (Louisville, KY/Louisville Collegiate School) for a goal with 17 seconds remaining to give Kenyon a 5-4 lead heading into the half.

The third quarter would see Denison's Tyack feed O'Donnell for the game-tying goal at the 10:10 mark, while senior Camden Bowdy (Dublin, OH/Dublin Coffman) and sophomore Luke Fisher (Alexandria, VA/St. Stephens & St. Agnes) would give the Big Red a 7-5 lead going into the final 15 minutes of action. Denison would go on a five-goal run in the first 10 minutes of the fourth period thanks to freshman Jack Hines (Charlotte, NC/Episcopal), Chace, freshman Tommy Quinson (Rye Brook, NY/Brunswick School), Bowdy and Fisher, which gave the Big Red the 12-5 victory.
