2021 NCAC Field Hockey Players of the Week

September 7th
 

Denise Bergdolt, Earlham
(Mannheim, Germany/Feudenheim-Gymnasium Mannheim)

Earlham senior Denise Bergdolt helped the Quakers to a perfect 3-0 start to the season, notching a win over DePauw and two wins against Concordia-Wisconsin. Bergdolt tallied two goals and two assists on the week, including the game-winner in a 1-0 contest on Saturday against CUW.

September 13th
 

Astrid Koek, Ohio Wesleyan
(Maastricht, the Netherlands/Erasmus)

Ohio Wesleyan senior Astrid Koek helped the Battling Bishops to a conference victory over Oberlin and a non-conference win against Concordia Wisconsin last week. Koek notched both of the game-winning goals for the Bishops, including the go-ahead goal with just 5:55 remaining in the game against CUW, a game which OWU won, 3-1. On the week, Koek tallied three goals and one assist.

Bella Kern, Kenyon
(Louisville, KY/Kentucky Country Day)

Kenyon junior Bella Kern scored three goals – one in each of the team's victories against Washington & Jefferson, Oberlin and Transylvania last week.

September 27th
 

Meg Murphy, Earlham
(Chico, CA/Chico Senior)

Earlham senior Meg Murphy secured two complete-game shutouts in goal for the Quakers against Wittenberg and Ohio Wesleyan last week. On Tuesday against the Tigers, Murphy made three saves before netting a season-high six stops against the Battling Bishops on Saturday.

October 4th
 

Allison Ormsby, Wittenberg
(Dayton, OH/Centerville)

Wittenberg senior Allison Ormsby slotted three goals, including two game-winners, helping the Tigers pick up a pair of wins over Transylvania and Wooster. In Saturday's 3-2 victory against the Fighting Scots, Ormsby connected on the game-winner in overtime.

October 11th
 

Denise Bergdolt, Earlham
(Mannheim, Germany/Feudenheim-Gymnasium Mannheim)

Earlham senior Denise Bergdolt scored all three of the Quaker's goals in a 2-0 week. She tallied both goals in a 2-1 win over Allegheny, notching the game-winner in the 53rd minute. Bergdolt then scored the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Oberlin in the 39th minute.

October 18th
 

Grace Lane, Kenyon
(Chelsea, MI/Chelsea)

Kenyon freshman Grace Lane helped the Ladies to a 2-1 conference win over Earlham on Saturday. The Quakers entered the game with a record of 12-1 overall and 3-0 in the NCAC. After being down 1-0, Lane responded with her first collegiate goal to tie the game and then found the back of the cage a second time to give Kenyon the lead.

October 25th
 

Meg Murphy, Earlham
(Chico, CA/Chico)

Earlham senior Meg Murphy kept a clean sheet through 80 minutes of play at Denison on Thursday in a 1-0 shootout victory for the Quakers. Murphy made seven saves during regulation to keep the Big Red off of the scoreboard, forcing a penalty shootout where the senior secured five of Denison's seven shot attempts in a 3-2 shootout win.

November 1st
 

Bella Kern, Kenyon
(Louisville, KY/Kentucky Country Day)

Kenyon junior Bella Kern helped the Ladies to three NCAC victories last week, en route to clinching the team's sixth NCAC Championship in program history. Kern tallied one goal in each of the three wins against Ohio Wesleyan, Oberlin and Wooster. Her goals against the Battling Bishops and Fighting Scots both represented the game-winning goal.
