2020-21 NCAC Women's Basketball Athletes of the Week

February 1st
Claire Keefe, DePauw
(Libertyville, IL/Libertyville)

 

DePauw senior Claire Keefe played an instrumental role in the Tiger's weekend sweep of Greenville. In Friday night's season-opener, Keefe produced a 17-point, nine-rebound performance in a 74-44 victory. She also collected her 1,000th career point in the game. Keefe followed Friday's performance with 14 points and seven rebounds in Saturday's 74-41 win over the Panthers.

February 8th
Kasey Schipfer, Ohio Wesleyan
(Mechanicsburg, OH/ Mechanicsburg)

 

Ohio Wesleyan freshman Kasey Schipfer helped the Battling Bishops to their first regular-season sweep of Denison since the 2009-10 season. In Friday's 65-62 road victory, she led her team with 21 points and 9 rebounds. In Saturday's 57-52 home win, she paced OWU recording a double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds. The rookie also added four assists and four steals in the five-point victory.

February 15th
Lauren Denison, Ohio Wesleyan

Ohio Wesleyan freshman Lauren Denison helped the Battling Bishops collect back-to-back wins over Wittenberg last week. In a 55-44 road win on Friday, Denison tallied 11 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Then on Saturday, she poured in 22 points, including six three-pointers, while also adding three rebounds and one steal in a 72-60 win. The two victories gave OWU its first regular season sweep of the Tigers since the 2010-11 season. Ohio Wesleyan is also 4-0 to start the season, the longest season-opening winning streak for the Bishops since the 1999-2000 season.

February 22nd
Mikaila Carpenter, Denison

Denison sophomore Mikaila Carpenter averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds per game in a pair of wins over Wooster last week. On Friday, Carpenter posted a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while shooting 8-of-14 from the field and collecting two assists and one steal. On Saturday, she posted 12 points, nine rebounds, three steals and an assist. Carpenter is leading the Big Red in scoring with 13.7 ppg.

Kristie Kalis, Wittenberg
(Wilmette, IL/New Trier)

 

Wittenberg senior Kristie Kalis scored 39 points through two back to back wins against the Wooster Fighting Scots. Kalis got her week started on Friday with 28 points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block, while also hitting the 1,000-point milestone for her career. On Saturday, she posted 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting, while pulling down five rebounds, dishing two assists and claiming two steals and one block.

March 8th
Abigail Yunker, Wittenberg
(Whitehouse, OH/Anthony Wayne)

 

Wittenberg senior Abigail Yunker helped fuel two Tiger wins over Denison, posting two 20+ point efforts to close out the 2021 season. On Friday, Yunker knocked down 10-of-15 shots from the floor to score 26 points, while adding seven assists, three rebounds and three steals. On Saturday, the senior netted 20 points, dished 11 assists, gathered eight rebounds and claimed a steal and a block, which helped secure a three-point overtime win.

March 15th
TT Wright, Hiram
(Shaker Heights, OH/Shaker Heights)

 

Hiram senior TT Wright helped propel the Terriers to a weekend sweep of Wooster. In Friday's game, Wright produced a double-double, collecting 20 points and 10 rebounds, while also issuing four assists and one steal in a 76-71 victory. Saturday, she notched 17 points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists in a 68-58 win over the Fighting Scots.

Cierra Joiner, Ohio Wesleyan
(Centerburg, OH/Centerburg)

 

Ohio Wesleyan junior Cierra Joiner powered the Battling Bishops to a pair of victories over Hiram last week. On Thursday, Joiner collected 17 points on 8-of-14 shooting (.571), while grabbing five rebounds and notching two assists and two steals. On Sunday, Joiner compiled 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting (.643), while adding nine rebounds, three steals and two assists.
