2021 NCAC Volleyball Players of the Week

September 7th
 

Kiara Franks, Hiram
(Cleveland Heights, OH/Villa Angela-St. Joseph)

Hiram senior Kiara Franks recorded double-digit kill totals in two matches last week, including 17 against St. Vincent and 12 against Westminster. She also collected two matches with 15 or more digs, picking up 15 vs. Westminster and 20 vs. St. Vincent. Her performances on the week helped the Terriers get off to a 4-1 start to the season. Hiram went 3-1 at the Bearcat Challenge hosted by St. Vincent where the Terriers won their three matches in straight-set fashion.

September 13th
 

Katie Billetdeaux, Wooster
(Lindenhurst, IL/Lakes Community)

Wooster senior Katie Billetdeaux was unstoppable during a 4-0 week for the Fighting Scots. The Scots' top middle hit .537 with 49 kills on 80 swings with just six errors. Billetdeaux tied her career-high with 18 kills during a 3-1 win over Adrian at the Battle at the Point. With Billetdeaux helping lead the charge up front, Wooster has won seven straight matches.

September 20th
 

Tyler Linkhart, Wittenberg
(Yellow Springs, OH/Yellow Springs)

Wittenberg sophomore Tyler Linkhart put down 53 kills (3.79 k/s) as the Tigers went 4-0 at their annual Fall Classic. Wittenberg defeated Mt. St. Joseph and Rose-Hulman in straight sets on Friday evening and returned to action on Saturday taking down Heidelberg in the opener, before edging Earlham in a five-set thriller. Linkhart earned All-Classic honors with a .368 hitting percentage, adding three service aces (0.21 a/s), 21 digs (1.5 d/s) and four blocks (0.29 b/s).

September 27th
 

Tyler Linkhart, Wittenberg
(Yellow Springs, OH/Yellow Springs)

Wittenberg sophomore Tyler Linkhart broke the Tiger's single-match kill percentage record on Saturday against Allegheny. The sophomore crushed 16 kills on 22 attempts with no errors for a .727 hitting percentage. On the week, Linkhart collected 39 kills, 10 digs and six blocks across 11 sets as the Tigers extended their win streak to nine games.

October 4th
 

Cheyenne Wilson, Allegheny
(Chico, CA/Pleasant Valley)

Allegheny junior Cheyenne Wilson helped the Gators to a pair of NCAC wins over Oberlin and Kenyon last week. The victories marked Allegheny's first NCAC win since 2015 and first back-to-back conference wins since 2011. On the week, Wilson collected 23 kills, 18 digs, three service aces and two blocks across eight sets.

October 11th
 

Daria Rodriguez, Denison
(Naperville, IL/Benet Academy)

Denison freshman Daria Rodriguez averaged 4.57 kills per set on a .311 hitting percentage while helping lead the Big Red to a 4-0 start in conference play. She also added 14 digs and four service aces on the week. Rodriguez led Denison with a match-high 20 kills, a .313 attack percentage and nine digs in a win over Ohio Wesleyan, and then posted 12 kills on a .308 attack percentage in a victory over Wooster.

October 18th
 

Kirby MacKinnon, Denison
(Chatham, Ontario/Chatham Kent Secondary)

Denison sophomore Kirby MacKinnon led the Big Red to another undefeated week by compiling 113 assists (12.56 assists per set) over three matches. The sophomore also recorded 25 digs and four assisted blocks on the week. On Wednesday, she issued 29 assists and nine digs in a sweep at Kenyon as Denison improved to 5-0 in the NCAC. She also dished out 43 and 41 assists, respectively, in two non-conference sweeps on Saturday against Mount Union and Capital. MacKinnon added 10 digs against Capital for her seventh double-double of the season. The sophomore currently leads the conference in assists per set and is top-three in the country.

October 25th
 

Kiara Franks, Hiram

Hiram senior Kiara Franks tallied her 1,000th career kill last week as the Terriers defeated conference foes Allegheny and Wooster. Franks recorded a team-high 17 kills to go along with eight digs in a five-set win over the Fighting Scots. On the week, the senior compiled 41 kills, 15 digs and one service ace across 12 sets for the Terriers.

November 1st
 

Lucy Anderson, Denison
(Bloomington, IN/Bloomington South)

Denison junior Lucy Anderson tied her career-high in kills with 18, hitting .531 and setting a new career-best in blocks with 10 to help Denison beat Wittenberg in five sets and win the program's first-ever NCAC Championship. Seven of her 10 blocks against the Tigers were solo, including a solo block on the final point of the match to give the Big Red a 15-9 win in the fifth set. Then on Saturday, Anderson led the Big Red against Transylvania with 18 kills, seven blocks, six digs and four service aces, all while hitting .350. For the week, Anderson recorded 36 kills (3.60 kills per set), 17 blocks (1.70 blocks per set), nine digs, five service aces, and hit .431.
