Denison senior Marc-Lennart Harms went 2-0 with a win in both singles and doubles during the first day of the dual meet season for the Big Red on Saturday. In a pair of 9-0 wins at home against John Carroll, Harms teamed up with Jack Bulger (Mill Valley, CA/Redwood) for an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles in the first match before earning a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles in the second match.

Oberlin senior Sean Billerbeck was a part of two of the Yeomen's three points in a tough 6-3 setback to No. 23 Carnegie Mellon. In No. 2 doubles, Billerbeck and teammate Rohan Gold (Forest Hills, NY/The Kew Forest School) claimed an 8-4 win over Jonathan Nottingham and Jaden D'Abreo. Then in the top singles flight, the senior knocked off the Atlantic South Region's 10th ranked player Matthew Poh in straight sets, 6-1 and 7-5.

Wabash freshman Eduardo Werneck recorded two wins for the Little Giants in their matches against Millikin and Rose-Hulman. Werneck earned a 6-1, 6-4 win at no. 6 singles against Millikin and won in straight sets against Rose-Hulman at no. 5 singles, 6-4, 6-3.

Jacob Patterson, Denison

Denison freshman Jacob Patterson went 3-2 over the weekend with a win against the defending NCAA Division III National Champions and No. 1-ranked Chicago. Against the Maroons, Patterson picked up Denison's lone win in singles action as he won in a third-set super tiebreaker at No. 4 singles with a 5-7, 6-2, 1-0 (11-9) comeback victory. At No. 2 singles against Asbury, the rookie won in three sets (5-7, 6-3, 6-0), while he and his partner, Andreas Chapides (Limassol, Cyprus/ES International School) won 8-1 at No. 2 doubles. Patterson is now 3-0 in dual matches so far this season.

Wooster junior Shivam Dewan helped lead the Fighting Scots to a 2-0 week after recording four victories. In a 9-0 win over Grove City, Dewan teamed with freshman Namit Mirsa (Pune, India/Suryadatta National School) for a win in the No. 2 doubles flight, 8-5. He later swept his No. 3 singles competition 6-0, 6-0. In the team's 9-0 win against Capital, Dewan and Misra won 8-1 in the No. 2 flight, and the junior later took a 6-2, 6-1 win in the No. 2 singles flight.

Oberlin freshman Shawn Lisann went a perfect 4-0 in a pair of Yeomen wins this past weekend. In a 6-3 win over Allegheny, Lisann earned a 6-1, 6-2 win over the Gators at no. 4 singles and then teamed with sophomore Sebastien Naginski (Watertown, MA/International School of Boston) to collect an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles. In a 7-2 win over Ohio Northern, Lisann gutted out a 6-4, 7-6 victory at no. 3 singles, while he and Naginski notched another 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles.

Ryan McCook, DePauw
(St. Albans, NY/ University of Nebraska HS)


DePauw junior Ryan McCook helped lead the Tigers to a 2-0 week after recording four victories. In an 8-1 win over Hanover, McCook teamed with senior Thomas Partridge (North York, Ontario, Canada/Royal St Georges College) to collect an 8-6 victory in no. 1 doubles before recording a 6-1, 6-2 no. 3 singles victory. In a 6-3 win over Oberlin, McCook and Partridge earned an 8-2 no. 1 doubles victory before the junior earned a hard-fought 5-7, 7-5, 6-1 victory on court three in singles action.

Andy Mackler, Denison
(Lake Mary, FL/Seminole)


Denison junior Andy Mackler posted an 8-1 record after going 5-0 in singles and 3-1 in doubles. Mackler won 6-0, 6-1 at no. 5 singles in a 5-1 win over North Central. He collected a 6-3, 6-0 win at no. 4 singles, while he and sophomore Colin Gramley (Sharon, PA/Shady Side Academy) came out on top 8-5 at no. 2 doubles in a 9-0 victory against Carthage. In a 7-2 win over no. 30-ranked Skidmore, Mackler and junior Zachary Portnoy (New York, NY/Dwight School) won 8-1 at no. 2 doubles. Against NCAA Division I Niagara, Mackler won 6-3, 6-4 at no. 5 singles to clinch the 5-2 win for Denison. Mackler and Portnoy pulled out a 7-5 win in no. 2 doubles in the Big Red's 6-1 win over NCAA Division II Dallas Baptist. In the final match of the week at no. 8-ranked Emory, Mackler defeated Brandon Cohen 6-2, 7-6 (7-1) at no. 5 singles, while his only loss of the week was an 8-3 decision at no. 3 doubles with Portnoy against the Eagles.

Oberlin senior Sean Billerbeck went 5-0 on the week to help the Yeomen collect three wins on spring break in Hilton Head, South Carolina. In a 6-3 win over Millikin, Billerbeck gutted out a 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 win at no. 1 singles, while he and junior Rohan Gold (Forest Hills, NY/The Kew Forest School) were 8-5 winners at no. 2 doubles. In a 4-3 win over Division II Frostburg, Billerbeck and Gold were 6-2 victors at no. 2 doubles. The week concluded with a 5-4 win over Union, as Billerbeck collected a 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) win at no. 1 singles, and he and Gold claimed an 8-4 victory at no. 2 doubles.

Jack Bulger, Denison

Denison senior Jack Bulger went a combined 7-2 (3-1 singles, 4-1 doubles) on the week. Bulger's week was highlighted by a 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (8-6) win in no. 1 singles over Kenyon's Rishil Kondapaneni (Cumming, GA/South Forsyth), who is ranked no. 13 in the Central Region, while he and Marc Lennart-Harms (Jever, Germany/Mariengymnasium Jever) teamed up to record an 8-0 victory in no. 1 doubles over the Owls' Luis Platas (Sunny Isles, FL/Florida Virtual) and Eric Zhang (Barrington, RI/Barrington), who are ranked no. 3 in the Central Region. Against Wittenberg on Saturday, Bulger won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and 8-3 with Anthony Payiavlas (Warren, OHHarding) at No. 1 doubles. On Sunday, Bulger and Payiavlas won 8-3 against Ohio Wesleyan and 8-5 against Otterbein, both at No. 1 doubles, while Bulger also won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles against the Cardinals. Bulger's only losses on the week came against the no. 1 nationally-ranked team in the country, Case Western Reserve, on Friday as Bulger fell against James Hopper, who is ranked no. 1 in the Central Region, at no. 1 singles and against Hooper and Vishwa Aduru, who are ranked no. 1 in the Central Region, at no. 1 doubles.

Kenyon senior Luis Andres Platas went 4-0 on the week as the Owls picked up two conference wins. Against Oberlin on senior day, the Platas won 6-0, 6-2 at no. 2 singles after pairing with Christophe Leblanc (Saint-Bruno, Quebec, Canada/University of Nebraska HS) for an 8-1 win at no. 2 doubles. Moving to the top singles spot against Wooster, Platas won 6-3, 6-2, following another no. 2 doubles win with Leblanc, 8-3.
 
April 17th

(Williamstown, WV/Williamstown)

Ohio Wesleyan freshman Rainer Holl went 4-0 on the week, 2-0 at no. 3 doubles and 2-0 at no. 6 singles. In a 5-4 win over Wittenberg, Holl and Elliot Spicer (Newark) earned an 8-6 win and then the rookie collected a 6-0, 6-1 win in singles. Then in a tight 5-4 loss to Wooster, Holl and Spicer posted an 8-6 win, while Holl notched a 6-0, 6-3 win in singles.
April 24th
Thomas Partridge, DePauw
(North York, Ontario, Canada/Royal St. Georges College)


DePauw senior Thomas Partridge won both his singles and doubles matches against Ohio Wesleyan on Tuesday. At no.1 doubles with Ryan McCook (St. Albans, NY/University of Nebraska High School) the pair won 8-2. Then in the no. 1 singles flight, Partridge won 6-2, 6-4.
