Lance Shearer

Lance Shearer is in his second season as director of tennis at Ohio Wesleyan University, overseeing both the men's and women's tennis teams.
In 2021-22, the Battling Bishop women compiled an 8-13 record and placed seventh in the North Coast Athletic Conference tournament, while the Bishop men were 6-15 overall and finished eighth in the NCAC tournament.
Shearer came to Ohio Wesleyan from Buckeye Valley High School, where he was the Barons' tennis coach for 4 years. Prior to coaching at Buckeye Valley, he was an AAU/traveling team coach in central Ohio for 12 years, with 23 of his players going on to play at the collegiate level.
He is a 1992 graduate of Heidelberg College, majoring in public administration. During his career with the Student Princes, he was a 4-year letterman in tennis and played basketball and lacrosse. He continued his education at the John Glenn School of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University.
Shearer is a native of Delaware, Ohio.
