Wabash sophomore Luka DiFilippo broke the program record for ground balls in a game, scooping up 18 in the Little Giants' 16-9 win over Anderson to open the season. DeFilippo won 25-of-29 faceoff starts for Wabash, including a 5-for-5 effort in the fourth period.

Thomas Nelson, Kenyon

Kenyon sophomore Thomas Nelson tied an NCAA Division III record for single-game faceoff percentage after posting a near-perfect mark in two Owl wins last week. In an 11-10 season-opening win over Baldwin Wallace, Nelson was a flawless 24-for-24 in faceoff battles, which tied the NCAA faceoff-percentage record at 100 percent (min. 21 faceoffs). His win total, without a loss, ranks as the seventh best in NCAA Division III history. In a 16-8 win over Capital, the sophomore was 19-of-20 on faceoffs, making him 43-for-44 (97.7 percent) on the week. Additionally, Nelson's two-game totals included a team-best 34 ground balls, to go along with two goals and an assist.

DePauw sophomore midfielder Henry White helped lead the Tigers to a 9-8 overtime win over the Milwaukee School of Engineering. White recorded six points off five goals and one assist. The sophomore added five ground balls and three caused turnovers in the one-goal victory.

Jack Giuffre, Kenyon

Kenyon senior Jack Giuffretallied five goals, three assists, six ground balls, and two caused turnovers in a pair of Owls' wins that kept the team undefeated at 5-0. Giuffre started the week with a game- and season-high four goals, including the last-second, game-winning goal in a 7-6 win over Haverford. Then in an 18-14 win over Colorado College, the senior dished three assists, collected one goal and caused two turnovers.

Archer Darrach, Denison

Denison senior Archer Darrach played all 120 minutes in goal, as the Big Red went 2-0 on the week. Darrach recorded 26 saves, a .578 save percentage and a 9.50 goals-allowed average. The senior finished with 11 saves and a .524 save percentage in a 14-10 win over St. Mary's College of Maryland on Tuesday. Then in a 10-9 upset win over no. 2-ranked Gettysburg on Saturday, the netminder made 15 saves, five of which came in the final period, to finish with a .625 save percentage and eight ground balls.

Spencer Amacher, Ohio Wesleyan

Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Spencer Amacher helped lead the Battling Bishops to two wins on the week, recording four ground balls, three goals and two assists. In a 9-8 win over Southern Virginia, Amacher netted the game-tying goal at 7-all with 1:39 remaining in third quarter and then tallied an assist with five seconds left in period to put Bishops ahead for good. Then in a 10-8 conference win over Kenyon, the sophomore assisted on the game-tying goal at 8-all with 1:20 remaining in third quarter and then found the back of the net to put the Bishops ahead 9-8 midway through fourth. |

Rollins Heath, Kenyon

Kenyon sophomore midfielder Rollins Heath led the Owls to one of the most memorable wins in program history, a 14-13 upset of No. 12-ranked Denison. The win was Kenyon's first against the powerhouse Denison program since the beginning of the 2006 season, a span of 19 games. Heath recorded a game-high six points on a game-high four goals and two assists. One of his four goals included a charge through three defenders and, while falling over, scoring the game-tying goal with 1:12 remaining in the game. He tallied his four goals on just seven shots and scooped up five ground balls.

Kyle Gould, Wittenberg

Wittenberg freshman midfielder Kyle Gould tallied a team-high four goals in a victory over Hiram. Gould converted nine of his six shots on goal and added one ground ball to help lead Wittenberg to its first conference win of the season.

Archer Darrach, Denison

Denison senior Archer Darrach collected two wins on the week for No. 18 Denison with 19 saves and 11 goals allowed for a .633 save percentage, while collecting seven ground balls and causing one turnover. He finished with 13 saves in a big 11-5 win over Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday. He helped lead the defense, keeping OWU to 0-for-4 on man-up opportunities in the first half. For Darrach, his .722 save percentage against the Battling Bishops was his second highest of the season. Earlier in the week, the netminder made six saves in a 19-6 win over Oberlin.

Wittenberg junior Kody Gould netted a team-high six goals in the Tiger’s 16-13 victory at Wooster. Gould added one ground ball in the three-goal victory and added a caused turnover in an 11-10 win over Wabash.

Michael Muldoon, Oberlin
(Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood)
Oberlin fifth-year senior Michael Muldoon played a major role in helping the Yeomen secure its second-straight trip into the NCAC Tournament. Muldoon produced a season-high eight points on a season-best five goals and three assists in Oberlin’s 18-10 road win at Wittenberg. In a tight 15-12 loss to nationally ranked Kenyon, Muldoon found the back of the net once and scooped up one ground ball.
