Wooster senior Joe Shilts logged times of 11.67 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles, 57.32 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles, and was the leadoff leg of the Fighting Scots' 4x400 relay that crossed at 3:30.45 at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. Shilts' time in the 400 hurdles ranks 26th nationally.

Wooster senior Will McMichael was the runner-up in the seeded 800-meter run at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. McMichael's time of 1:55.75 is currently 21st nationally.

Davis Patterson, Wooster
(Evanston, IL/Evanston Township)
 

Wooster junior Davis Patterson won the decathlon at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. Patterson was one of two NCAA Div. III competitors in the seven-competitor field, with the other five coming from NCAA Div. II programs. The junior's score of 5,424 points is No. 2 nationally and marks the program's highest decathlon score since 1999.

Ari Skolnik, Denison

Denison sophomore Ari Skolnik finished third in the 110 meter hurdle finals with a new personal record of 15.10 seconds at the Emory Thrills in the Hills Open. His time ranks first in the NCAC and is tied for 16th in Division III so far this season. Skolnik also ran the first leg of Denison's fifth-place 4x100 meter relay team that finished with a time of 42.53 seconds, which is tied for 24th in DIII.

Brayden Curnutt, Wabash

Wabash sophomore Brayden Curnutt turned in two personal-best times at the Eastern Illinois University Big Blue Open over the weekend. The sophomore raced to third place out of 35 runners in Friday's 5,000-meter run with a career-best time of 14:56.36, the fastest time by an NCAC competitor this season. Curnutt added another personal-best time by finishing the 1500-meter run in 4:03.06 to place ninth out of 60 finishers on Saturday. His 1500-meter time also tops the NCAC performance list.

Andrew Skolnik, Denison

Denison sophomore Andrew D'Asaro finished in second place in the javelin at 51.72 meters, while helping the Big Red finish in second place as a team at the Emory Thrills in the Hills Open. D'Asaro's throw in the javelin is ranked first in the NCAC and 29th in Division III.

Grant Hunt, DePauw
(Princeville, IL/Princeville)


DePauw freshman Grant Hunt collected two sixth-place finishes in the 100-meter run (10.88) and the 200-meter run (22.15) at the WashU Invitational. Hunt's 100 time is currently second in the NCAC, while his 200 time is the fastest in the conference so far this season.

Wittenberg sophomore Conor Kolka finished 12th in a high-caliber 10,000-meter field at the WashU Distance Carnival. Kolka crossed the line in 30:07.18, which set a new school record and also ranks 15th nationally and first in the conference.

Wabash sophomore William Morris finished second overall in the pole vault and cleared the top height this season among conference vaulters with his performance at the Pacesetter Sports Invitational at Indiana State University. Morris set a personal-best mark by clearing 4.62 meters (15 feet, 1.75 inches) to finish second among seven entrants, including three vaulters from Division I programs. His mark ranks first in the NCAC and 16th in the nation.

Will Newby, Wabash

Wabash freshman Will Newby won the 100-meter dash and anchored the Little Giants' record-tying 4x100-meter relay effort at Saturday's Huntsman Family Invitational. Newby won the 100 by crossing the finish line in 10.86 seconds. He and teammates Sly Williams (Indianapolis, IN/Bishop Chatard), Julius Hearns (Portage, IN/Portage) and Seth Acero (San Antonio, TX/Harlan) posted the winning time of 41.80 in the 4x100-meter relay to tie the Wabash school record that was originally set in 1969. The relay time is the best among conference teams and ranks 21st among DIII times so far this season.

Oberlin sophomore Walter Moak was a double winner competing against both Wooster and Lourdes, as he topped a field of 15 in both the 800-meter run and the 1,500-meter run. He crossed the line in a time of 1:59.69 in the 800, and then recorded the win in the 1,500 in a time of 4:02.20, which is the fastest in the conference so far this season.

Bennett DeCoursey, DePauw
(Zionsville, IN/ Zionsville)


DePauw sophomore Bennett DeCoursey recorded the win in the discus at Saturday's Huntsman Family Invitational hosted by Wabash. DeCoursey beat out 17 other competitors with a heave of 50.07 meters, which is the best distance in the NCAC and is a top-10 throw in all of Division III so far this season.

Tapiwa Gono Phiri, Kenyon

Kenyon sophomore Tapiwa Gono Phiri shined for the Owls at the All-Ohio Championship, winning the 100-meter dash and setting a program record in the 200-meter dash. The sophomore sprinter secured Kenyon's best finish when he paced the field in the 100-meter dash, clocking in at 10.84 seconds. The time was a season-best in the event for Gono Phiri and the Owls. Later, Gono Phiri rewrote the Kenyon record books in the 200-meter dash, recording a wind-aided time of 21.95 seconds to finish second in the event and break the previous program mark of 21.96 set by Carlo Gagliardo on May 4, 2013.

Haiden Diemer-McKinney, Wabash
(Brownsburg, IN/Brownsburg)

Wabash freshman Haiden Diemer-McKinney won the 800-meter run at Saturday's Indiana DIII Championships held at DePauw and broke the meet and facility record in the process. Diemer-McKinney crossed the finish line in 1:51.18 to eclipse the old meet mark of 1:55.44 held by former Wabash runner Hayden Baehl; his time also broke the Blackstock Stadium record of 1:52.51 set in 2001. He now shares the 10th-quickest in Division III so far this season in the event. The rookie also anchored the Little Giants' winning 4x400-meter relay team that collected a season-best time of 3:20.23, for the third-fastest time in the conference so far this season.

Wabash senior Reis Thomas won the discus throw at Saturday's Indiana DIII Championships with a top distance of 47.64 meters. His meet-best throw was nearly one meter farther than the second-place mark of 46.73 meters.

Wittenberg freshman Grayson Ring collected a win and runner-up finish at the Duane Gomez Invitational hosted by Kenyon. Ring won the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.55 and took second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.17.

Brayden Curnutt, Wabash

Wabash sophomore Brayden Curnutt posted two individual victories at the Rose-Hulman Twilight Invitational Friday evening. Curnutt won the 1500-meter run with a career-best time of 3:55.97, the fastest time of the season by an NCAC men's runner. The sophomore added a victory in the 3,000-meter run with a personal-best time of 8:31.67.

Riley Orth, Kenyon

Kenyon junior Riley Orth had a big day in the throwing pit at Saturday’s inaugural Duane Gomez Invitational. Orth's day started with a first-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 14.69 meters to top the field of 17. He then launched the discus 41.55 meters for a third-place finish. Finally, Orth wrapped up his day with a Kenyon record of 43.98 meters in the hammer throw. He topped his own record set one week ago.

Denison junior Isaiah Kessler picked up the win in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal record time of 58.07 seconds at the Big Red Invitational. His time ranks no. 4 in the NCAC so far this season.

Denison freshman Noah Cyr won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:49.02 at the Big Red Invitational.

Jacob Brown, Denison

Denison junior Jacob Brown  won the decathlon for the second-straight season at the NCAC Outdoor Track & Field Combined Events Championships with 6,163 total points. Brown earned the decathlon win after taking first in the long jump (6.61m; 21' 8.25") and the 1500-meter run (4:49.52), while also earning runner-up finishes in the shot put (11.89m; 39' 0.25"), the 110-meter hurdles (16.00) and the discus (31.68m; 103' 11"), a third-place showing in both the 400-meter dash (53.51) and the javelin throw (41.30m; 135' 06"), tying for third in the pole vault (3.65m; 11' 11.75"), tying for fourth in the high jump (1.80m; 5' 10.75") and a fifth-place finish in the 100-meter dash (11.67).
