Top-seeded Wittenberg claimed its 13th North Coast Tournament title and earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championship with a 30-19, 30-20, 30-22 decision over Hiram in the championship match. The Tigers enter the NCAA Tournament with a perfect 34-0 record and stand as the only undefeated team in all of NCAA volleyball - all divisions. Wittenberg advanced to the final after sweeping fourth-seeded Earlham, one of only five squads to take a game from the Tigers during the regular season, in straight sets in their semifinal matchup. Second-seeded Hiram defeated the third seed, Wooster, 3-0, in their semifinal matchup.
Wittenberg and Hiram have met in the past six Tournament championship games, including this fall. The Tigers have claimed five of those meetings; the Terriers won their first NCAC Tournament title last fall.
