After an abbreviated 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Roth has increased his team's win total in each of the last two seasons, highlighted by a combined 12-11 record at Price Gymnasium during that span. Roth has led Hiram to a pair of conference tournament appearances during his tenure, while also coaching a two-time All-NCAC selection in Brodgie Gordon.

Over his two seasons at the University of Rochester, Roth helped the Yellow Jackets to a 37-15 record, including a 21-6 season in 2018-19 and an NCAA Division III Second-Round appearance. Under Roth's tutelage, the Yellow Jackets ranked as high as No. 12 in 2018-19 and finished 24th in the D3Hoops.com Top 25.

In 2018-19, the Yellow Jackets picked up seven wins against ranked opponents under Roth, finished first in the University Athletic Association (UAA) in scoring defense and earned the National Association of Basketball Coaches' (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award. Additionally, senior Ryan Clamage was named the UAA Player of the Year and a Third-Team All-American.

While in 2019-20, Roth helped coach a Rochester starting five that placed four student-athletes on the UAA all-conference team, while junior Ryan Algier was named an NABC Third-Team All-American.

Prior to joining the Yellow Jackets, Roth spent three seasons as the top assistant and interim head coach at New York University in New York, N.Y. Over his three seasons with the Violets, Roth helped NYU to a 21-6 season in 2015-16, as well as an NCAA Div. III Second-Round berth. That year, the Violets ranked as high as No. 7 in the D3Hoops Top 25, and Senior Evan Kupferberg was named the UAA Player of the Year and a First-Team All-American.

Additionally, Roth coached the UAA Freshman of the Year and a CoSIDA Academic All-American during his tenure at NYU and saw senior Ross Udine finish his career as the program's all-time leader in assists.

Before joining the Violets, Roth spent two seasons as the top assistant coach at Bluffton University in Bluffton, Ohio. Roth helped the Beavers reach their first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championship Game in program history in 2014-15, while junior Thayne Recker earned All-HCAC First-Team Honors, as well as Second-Team All-Region.

Additionally, the Beavers earned the NABC Team Academic Excellence award under Roth in 2014-15.

Previously, Roth also spent a season as the top assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Alfred State University in Alfred, N.Y., working extensively on player and system development and helping the Pioneers to an 11-win improvement in 2012-13.

A graduate of Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio, Roth began his coach career at his alma mater, spending one season as an assistant coach with the Yellow Jackets. Roth has also directed and worked at numerous basketball camps across the country, including camps at Cornell, Dartmouth and Yale.
