Wooster (6-1, 12-3) captured its second straight North Coast championship with an 8-7 win over Denison (6-1, 11-6) in the finals of the NCAC Tournament at Wooster on May 3. With 7:52 minutes remaining in the game, Wooster's Lizzie Newton (Chapel Hill, NC/Chapel Hill) scored on a free position shot to tie the game at seven. Fifty-one seconds later, Allison Harrod (Cincinnati, OH/Sycamore) scored the game-winner. The Fighting Scots defeated Kenyon (4-3, 7-5), 20-7, and the Big Red beat Wittenberg (5-2, 8-6), 8-6, in the semifinals to earn their trips to the Tournament Championship. As conference champions, Wooster received an automatic bid into the 19-team NCAA Division III Championships. The Scots travel to Colorado College (4-0) for a first round game on Wednesday. The winner of the contest will advance to the regionals on Saturday and Sunday to face Salisbury (10-0). The semifinals and championship game will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 17-18 at St. John Fisher in Rochester, New York.

Four Fighting Scots were selected to the all-tournament team. Beth Hemminger (Annapolis, MD/Senior) was a repeat selection and was joined by teammates Megan Kennedy (Annapolis, MD/Broadneck Senior), Nicole Pritchard (Wildwood, MO/Lafayette) and Lindsay Tingley (Rockville, MD/Walter Johnson). Representing the runner-up Big Red were Jennifer Fuge (Simsbury, CT/Westminster School), Katie Keating (Englewood, CO/Cherry Creek), Molly Lamden (Darien, CT/ Darien) and Abbe Stewart (Worthington, OH/Kilbourne). Melissa Blum (Chevy Chase, MD/St. Andrew's) and Annie Huntoon (Wenham, MA/Groton) were selected from Kenyon and Katie Babcock (Phoenix, MD/Dulaney) and Cara Romanowski (Collegeville, PA/Perkiomen Valley) represented Wittenberg.
