Deb Zellers, a 1992 DePauw graduate, returned to her alma mater in 1994 to take over the helm of the volleyball program.

Zellers has posted a 622-341 record in 30 seasons and is the program's winningest coach in both victories and winning percentage. At the conclusion of the 2023 season, Zellers, along with assistant coach Sydney Stover, was voted North Coast Athletic Conference Coaching Staff of the Year after leading the Tigers to the NCAC regular season title. She led 2019 team to the program's first North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament title. The team has made four straight NCAA Division III postseason appearances and six in the last seven seasons. Zellers' 1998 and 2000 squads also earned postseason berths with the 2000 team winning 32 matches

DePauw has finished second in NCAC regular season six out of eight years and was second in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season. Zellers led DePauw to the 1994 Indiana Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament title.

Zellers also coached softball for seven seasons with a 129-102-3 record and a .558 winning percentage. 

As a DePauw Student, Zellers majored in psychology and was a four-year volleyball starter and a two-year starter in basketball as well as a captain in each sport. She earned all-conference honors in volleyball in 1989 and 1991 and was an all-district selection in 1990. Named the volleyball team's most valuable player in 1991 and the mental attitude award winner in 1990 and 1991. The Tigers earned a trip to the NCAA Division III Championship during her senior year (1991). In basketball, she twice won the mental attitude award and once was the most improved award winner. She also earned all-Hoosier Conference for Women honors in basketball as a senior.
