Jess West
Alma Mater: Messiah '13 | Overall Record: 10-55 (5 Years) | Record at Oberlin: 10-55 (5 Years)

Jess West enters her sixth season with Oberlin after joining the field hockey staff as an assistant in the summer of 2018 and was later named interim head coach in July of 2019. After the 2019 season, the interim tag was removed and West became the permanent leader of the Yeowomen.

In her first season at the helm, West guided Oberlin to a 3-14 record, their most wins since the 2014 campaign, while coaching Luisa McGarvey to All-NCAC honorable-mention honors.

In 2022, the Yeowomen earned four wins and had two players earn College Sports Communicators Academic All District laurels with five players also earning NFHCA Scholar-Athlete status in addition to Abbie Patchen being named to the All-NCAC third0-team. In her three full seasons of competition, West has produced three All-NCAC honorees.

In each of her seasons, Oberlin has earned team academic honors from the NFHCA and West has also mentored at least one scholar of distinction.

West was a member of the Messiah College field hockey squad in 2011 and 2012. She was a part of two MAC Commonwealth Tournament Championship teams that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in both seasons. Prior to her time at Messiah, she played two seasons at Catawba College.
