Natalie Hernandez

Coach Hernandez is entering her third season as head coach for the 2024. In her second season, Transylvania went 2-15 overall and posted a 1-7 mark in NCAC play.
In 2022, Hernansez and the Pioneers went 7-12. Compared to previous years Hernandez changed the culture around the team as her style of play outpaced our previous style of play scoring ten times the amount of goals the year before. In her first season, Hernandez took the team to the second round of the SAA after defeating Concordia 1-0 in the first round of the tournament. Concluding this season the Pioneers moved conferences, joining the NCAC for the 2023 season where Hernandez looks to continue her hot start.
Before Hernandez's Feild Hockey coaching career, Hernandez played collegiately at NCAA Division I University of Illinois-Chicago where she was a four-year letterwinner with the Flames. Hernandez accumulated a slew of awards during her playing career, earning placement to the Horizon League All-Tournament Team in her senior season of 2014. Hernandez batted .413 during her senior season, and capped off her career with a sizzling .563 batting average with three home runs over four games in the Horizon League Championships.
