Shiva Senthil enters his fourth season as head men's basketball coach at Oberlin College in 2025-26.
In his first season, Senthil led the Crimson and Gold to a signature win over the College of Wooster, marking Oberlin's first victory against the Scots since 1988 as they snapped a 60-game losing streak against the longtime national powerhouse. Under Senthil's direction, there have been four All-NCAC honorees as well as the 2024 NCAC Newcomer of the Year and the 2024 D3hoops.com Co-Regional Rookie of the Year. The Crimson and Gold have produced 19 NCAC Academic Honor Roll recipients and five College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selections while Senthil was at the helm.
Senthil came to Oberlin after a successful three-year tenure as the head coach at SUNY-Canton. In his first season in upstate New York, Senthil led the Roos to their first-ever NCAA Tournament after winning the 2020 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) championship, finishing the year with a 16-12 record and 10-4 mark in the NAC. Sentil mentored All-NAC athletes as well as a two-time NAC Defensive Player of the Year, the 2021 NAC Man of the Year, and the 2020-21 Senior Scholar Athlete.
One of just 30 honorees nationally across all divisions to be named to the 2019-20 Under Armour / National Association of Basketball Coaches 30-under-30 team, Senthil was also a finalist for the HoopDirt.com Coach of the Year award.
Prior to his arrival at SUNY-Canton, Senthil spent the 2018-19 season as an assistant coach at the University of Chicago, helping the Maroons record 15 wins, which included four victories against Top-25 teams. He has additional coaching stops as an assistant at Clarkson University (2016-18), SUNY-Purchase (2015-16), and Michigan-Dearborn (2014-15).
As a player, Senthil helped Hartwick College reach the NCAA Tournament two times (2011, 2012). In 2014, he was part of the Hawks' return to the national stage as a student assistant coach. Senthil graduated from Hartwick in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and went on to earn his MBA from Clarkson University in 2018.

Stephany Dunmyer

Stephany Dunmyer enters her seventh season as the head women's basketball coach at Oberlin College in 2025-26, after leading the Crimson and Gold to one of the most successful three-year runs in program history during the 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24 campaigns.
Guiding Oberlin to a 21-4 overall record and 13-3 mark in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) in 2021-22, the Crimson and Gold tied the program record for overall wins and conference wins in a season while earning the No. 2 seed for the NCAC Tournament, marking the highest seed in program history. The following season, the Crimson and Gold delivered a runner-up finish in the NCAC Tournament after finishing 17-11 overall and 8-6 in the NCAC. During Dunmyer's tenure at Oberlin, the Crimson and Gold have recorded 12 All-NCAC honorees as well as the 2022 NCAC Newcomer of the Year. Performing well in the classroom, Oberlin has tallied 31 NCAC All-Academic recipients and seven College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selections.
Prior to Oberlin, Dunmyer spent 16 seasons as the head coach at Virginia Wesleyan University, compiling a 250-181 record. A three-time Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Coach of the Year (2006, 2008, 2012), Dunmyer coached 24 All-ODAC players and led the Marlins to two ODAC regular season titles. Securing the ODAC Championship title in 2015, Dunmyer led Virginia Wesleyan to an NCAA First-Round appearance. Before her time at Virginia Wesleyan, Dunmyer held coaching stops at Indiana State University (2002-2003) and Ashland University (2000-2002).
A standout player at Kenyon College, Dunmyer produced 1,555 points during her career, helping the Owls (previously Ladies) win two NCAC Championships. Dunmyer was the 2000 NCAC Player of the Year, a three-time All-NCAC selection, and one of ten players named to the NCAC Women's Basketball 20th Anniversary Team. After earning a bachelor's degree in psychology from Kenyon in 2000, Dunmyer was a graduate assistant coach at Ashland University for two seasons while pursuing a master's of education in sport education. Following her successful playing career, Dunmyer was inducted into the Kenyon College Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 2012.
